Well before she even imagined a McCain ticket, she did nothing about sanctuary cities in her state. She has been in no hurry since the election to clear up her position.
I like her and think she was and is being treated unfairly, but I do not see her as a leader nor exactly what I would want in a president. It doesn’t matter I suppose, it will be her own demographic (women) that go after her the hardest and will sink her. My thinking is if Romney, Huckabee and Palin stay out of the 2012 run, we will all be the better for it.
I have no idea if he’s really her “top PR adviser” or anything of the sort, but if you don’t understand why it would be a problem for her to hire a Scientologist for such a position, you urgently need to read up on Scientology. It’s a sophisticated and ruthless organized crime network, and any politician who would knowingly hire a member of it, belongs at the top of the “do not vote for” list. Palin is certainly naive enough to UNknowingly hire a Scientologist, and if that’s what happened, I expect he’ll be her ex-PR adviser very, very soon.
I know a lot more about $cientology than you can imagine, but I also believe in the individual and I know individual motivations trump whatever the group may believe. This is not a religious position (and you are right, ‘top’ PR may be wrong, it isn’t specified).. The key is choosing the best individual for the job, I trust her judgment and his reputation in this.
So, are you stating that "religious" activities (like "disconnection," "fair game," "RPF" and charging over $300,000 for education of the OTIII secret story of "Xenu") should be legally protected?
She had better do it sooner rather than later.

I’m not going to get into an argument with you, just to be pulled into a defensive position over my chosen religion.
All I will say is that there is a lot of false data about Scientology on the internet and elsewhere. I’ve been a church member for 35 years, and can attest to that.
You won’t know what it really is, unless you pick up a Scientology book and read it for yourself. Everything else is just hearsay.

I dont know what you found there....but I read damn near everything hubbard wrote as a sci-fi fan....he went nuts while writting it...it just got more and more whacked until he believed his own stuff...
One common theme in even battle field earth....”leverage,blackmail and coersion”...he delighted in it as a plot line through his sci-fi novels....it’s literally dripping with it...
He spun a good yarn...but his beliefs where quite whacked at the end..
