BURBANK, Calif. President Barack Obama has told Jay Leno he was stunned when he learned of the bonuses that bailed-out insurance giant AIG was paying its employees.
Obama told "The Tonight Show" host the payments raise moral end ethical problems and the administration's going to do everything it can to get them back.
But Obama added the bigger problem is the culture that allowed traders to claim them. He says that's got to change if the economy is to recover.

Was his beeber stuned?
Obama added the bigger problem is the culture that allowed traders to claim them.
a little self-critique perhaps.
Yes, it is a culture, a culture of corruption, and his party feeds on it..
And you wouldn’t believe how many of those traders voted for him.
Yes, because they were “series” and “hugh”.
Stunned my sit down part. I’ll bet Chris Dodd is even more stunned. What a bunch of liars. I had thought I would watch just to see what BO was going to lie about. Guess I don’t have to stay up that late after all.
More transperancy ...

Thanks for the laugh. I had forgotten the beeber thing!
Obama shows his continuing ignorance of the bonuses: who they were to and what they were for.
He is not worthy of his beeber.
Did he talk with Geithner/Dodd?
He’s not worthy of his peepole either.
So he was stuned to find out what was in the bill he signed ?
Thus Spake the Teleprompter-in-Chief...
I'm Shocked, Shocked!!!!!!
I guess Obamas teleprompter doesn’t read the newspaper
AIG wooing Asia executives with 100% retention bonus
26 Nov 2008, 1217 hrs IST, Mahima Puri & Chaitali Chakravarty, ET Bureau
NEW DELHI: American International Group (AIG), which recently received a $150-billion bailout package from the US government, is offering retention
bonuses to a few senior executives in Asia, including key officials in India, said a person with knowledge of its plan. AIG has offered to pay such executives an extra years salary if they stay on with the company till November 2009.
Payments to these executives are likely to be made in 2010. A few senior executives have been shortlisted across AIGs offices in Asia for the payout, which includes senior executives in Hong Kong, Philippines, Singapore and India, the person said.
A spokesman for AIG in India was non-committal on the issue. Our employees are very important in our businesses. We do not comment on specific employee details, he said.
Neither Obama nor Leno have much room to talk about exhorbitant salaries, benefits and bonuses.
Kudlow just mentioned this on his CNBC show. His take is that this statement reflects badly on Geithner and that The Messiah may be getting ready to toss him under the bus.
Is he gonna give back the 100,000+ that he got from AIG..nah who am I kidding
If they where in India and other countries, it makes me wonder if this 90% punitive taxation will even touch them.
