Resolution on Obama leads to uproar in Ga. House

ATLANTA (AP) — Two dozen black lawmakers angrily stalked out of the Georgia House on Friday amid claims a decision by white Republican leaders to delay passage of a resolution honoring President Barack Obama had racist overtones.

House Speaker Glenn Richardson said the proposal to make Obama an honorary member of the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus required some changes to its language and sent it to a committee. Supporters, including black lawmakers, claimed the move was a snub to the nation's first black president.

"It drips with racism," said state Rep. Al Williams, a Democrat. "I call it just like it is."

He’s not black. He’s half black and white.
Thus that disqualifies him.

“It drips with racism,” said state Rep. Al Williams.”

I have to agree with Al Williams. Honoring him just because he is black is racist!

Whats that you say?

Al meant that not honoring him just because he is black is racist???

Huh, weird!

The action, not the reaction, is what is racist. Just having a “Georgia Legislative Black Caucus” is racist.

Georgia doesn’t “honor” communists. And the only racists are the Obama supporters.

The Georgia Legislative Black Caucus' obsession with race reeks of racism. I just call it like it is.

Republicans objected to wording that would have put the full chamber on record backing the resolution and its declaration of Obama as a man with an "unimpeachable reputation for integrity."

And these racist commucrats have the nerve to "wonder" why Repubs would object?

Of course, the fact that there is such a thing as the "Georgia Black Caucus" doesn't enter their minds as being racist, itself. Noooo. But I'm just curious, can't these fools simply read in whomever they want to their private little club? Why do they even need to have the rest of the legislature vote on it?

If they stormed out it sounds like a great time to get something done about making sure the presidential candidates are eligible.

(Unless you like the idea of “Soviet Amerikanistan”/s He’s just being recognized for having a higher melanin content than the typical American President. The Republicans should be screaming that this is a racist Dim proposal, but they’ll probably wind up apologizing and offering to undergo “re-education”/s

Agree to the resolution, if all the “black caucus” members will join in a bi-partisan law to require that all candidates on the next presidential ballot present certified long form birth certificates to prove their Constitutional Natural born status.

For yucks, add wording to the current resolution that says he can be an honorary member as soon as a certificed birth certificate shows up on the Governors desk from the Hawaiian Governor.

Unless there is a Georgia Legislative White Caucus or a Georgia Legislative Asian Caucus, I find the the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus to have racist overtones!

Good for them

All of the Black Caucasus are racist to their core by their very nature.

Republicans objected to wording that would have put the full chamber on record backing the resolution and its declaration of Obama as a man with an "unimpeachable reputation for integrity."

This is exactly the outcome the "Black Caucus" wanted. They wanted to claim a big 'ole diss so as to once again play the victim.

No member of a racial caucus would support a "white" politician that has been President only two months as having an "unimpeachable" reputation, and certainly not in the case of Obama with all the shenanigans he has been up to.

The obvious fact is essentially no politician could pass the "unimpeachable reputation for integrity" threshhold so this is, again, all a dog-and-pony show.

As a Georgian I would consider agreeing to some kind of obama resolution RIGHT AFTER they pass a resolution declaring George Bush the best American president the world has ever seen and ever will see.

for the record, I don’t Bush was the best but obama is sure making me long for the presidency of George Bush.

So far, obama is winning the award as “worst president ever in the history of the U.S.”

And Jimmy Carter is probably second to obama. Woodrow Wilson, not so great either.
