Aiken, Richmond and Columbia counties.

Local law enforcement agencies also report hearing the boom, but no one knows what caused it.

Chris Turner, and Aiken County resident, told WJBF News Channel 6’s Sheena Bodie what he saw and heard, in a phone interview. We have also been informed that two Aiken County Sheriff’s Office deputies reportedly saw a fireball in the sky.

An Aiken County resident describes to WJBF that he saw a fireball in the sky, after a loud boom was heard all over the CSRA around 3:00 a.m., Friday morning. Dr. Gary Senn, the director of the DuPont Planetarium at USC-Aiken stopped by our noon Newscast and spoke with our Mary Morrison about the possible causes. You can also let us know what you heard or saw.

According to the Director of the DuPont Planetarium at USC-Aiken, Gary Senn, the cause of the boom could have possibly been a meteor. Stay tuned to WJBF Newschannel 6 and WJBF.com for more on this developing story.

Let us know below by leaving a comment to let us know what you saw or heard. You can also report meteor/fireball sightings to the American Meteor Society’s website.

My event happened about 11:45 yesterday afternoon in southern Maryland. I heard several low rumbles and felt the ground shaking at about the same time. Lated maybe 1-2 minutes.

I think all of these roars, booms are a combination of what Jesus said in regards to the *Last Days* Earthquakes in diverse places, an increase as well as the Signs in the heavens... Meteorites....

I really believe people have to have thier head inserted in a mountian of sand, not to see that we are truly in the *Last Days* as the fullfillment of the generation that would come to see these things happening....

There are sources who claim that

only 20% of all earthquakes are NOT manmade.

Interesting assertion . . . just short of preposterous . . . . except for all the other preposterous facts to compare it with.

So that would be ....Texas?......Virginia? The station call letters begin with “W”, so it can’t be West Coast.....

Aiken is in SC and Richmond, Columbia are in Georgia ... this appears to be the Augusta area.

How would U.S. respond in a national emergency

Having studied the Cold War extensively over the years, it makes me real glad that the Cold War never went hot. It was even more fortunate to know that we will never face a national emergency where we’re all about to be annihilated by nukes.

However, the subject has been bugging me. I’ve wondered, it’ll 15 years this year from when the Cold War ended, yet in so many ways, our government and military still has some significant leftovers from the Cold War era and the mindset. Thus, I wondered what if a post-Cold War disaster occured that created a perilous national security situation which could threaten the United States? In other words, how would American respond to the most realistically worst emergency situation of today, as opposed to the End of the World scenario of the Cold War?

Let me lay out the scenario. Lets say a massive U.S. contingent is involved in large-scale military operations in the Middle East. Somehow, a couple of tactical nuclear weapons are detonated over the U.S. forces, annihilating them and leaving masses of casualties. How would the U.S. government at home respond?

Here is what I think, in chronological order:

-Defense Emergency declared by U.S. military (does Defense Emergency constitute use of tactical nukes, or does it pertain only to strategic nukes [ICBMs, SLBMs]?)
- U.S. military goes to DEFCON 1 for the first time ever
- U.S. military installations go to Force Protection Condition CHARLIE (imminent terrorist attack)
- FCC sends out Emergency Alert System broadcast on all TV stations (network, cable, or satellite) and all radio waves
- FCC shows live feed of President giving speech of situation, declares state of emergency
- State of emergency gives FEMA complete control of the country
- Martial law declared; National Guard mobilizes
- Homeland Security declares “Red State,” a severe threat of terrorist attack
- Government goes to Information Operations Condition CHARLIE
- All activites (school, work, etc.) are canceled, people are sent home, put under curfew, et. al.

One note, and this is to some specific people, especially, this is NOT, I repeat, NOT a discussion of U.S. foreign policy, this is a discussion about how the country of the U.S. would respond domestically in this given situation.

This is incredibly fascinating stuff. The system has evolved, but its also stayed the same and its amazing to consider this worst-case scenario, especially when you realize that in the 21st century, its not a doomsday situation and we can survive it, but we’d have to get through the chaos first.

I’m looking forward to a great discussion!

back to first link:

which mentioned “U.S. military installations go to Force Protection Condition CHARLIE (imminent terrorist attack)”. Turns out I have heard(1st hand) new preparation guidelines are being expedited to cover everything from terrorist attacks to Sit X to dirty bombs. The person mentioning this said this is being given high priority at bases throughout the US. Has anyone else heard anything like this?

2nd post on thread . . . last one, too:

was talking to a navy officer from Mcdill, and well ... when the subject came up he clamed up... so, I would say, the lie is different at every level. and he was told a hum dinger.

You said — “I think all of these roars, booms are a combination of what Jesus said in regards to the *Last Days* Earthquakes in diverse places, an increase as well as the Signs in the heavens... Meteorites....”

Well, you’ve got two different subjects going on here, as a matter of discussion...

One matter, or “subject” is whether these things, related to noises that people hear, like the “booms” being described, are the kinds of signs that are related to the end times. Now, mind you..., the discussion of that subject (as to whether those are actually the kinds of things described) — does not bear on the fact of whether it is *actually* the “end times” or it is not the end times.

In other words, for sake of example, let’s say that these particular things are not the things which were described, as indicating the end times. Okay, then does that mean that we are *not* in the end times. No, not necessarily, because there could be *other Biblical signs* which *are verified* which indicate that we are.

So, in this way, examining the fact of whether *these items* are *those signs described in the Bible* — does *not* mean anything one way or another. That’s because the Bible describes several different kinds of things that *are verifiable* — which can be used to show that we are in those times — whether or not these particular “booms” are part of them or not.

Therefore, I think one *can discuss* whether these are authoritative and valid signs (or not) — and still not have it impinge on the fact of whether we are in the end times. And actually, that should be the “first item” — to find out — as to whether “booming sounds” are one of those “signs” that we are supposed to notice or not.

NOW SECONDLY, the other “subject” that we’ve got going on (after we “find out” whether “booming sounds” is a Biblical sign or not) — is — “Are these booming sounds something ‘miraculous’ or are they something related to a common phenomenon that is perfectly normal and not out-of-the-ordinary...?” This is a *completely different matter* than the subject up above. The two are not “mixed in together”. They are separate items, but they do “bear” on one another.

If they are simply ordinarily-caused items (like the “booms” I’ve encountered in the past that have to do with earthquakes, and I’ve *actually* heard them boom, in an earthquake, or like sonic booms of planes, or a meteorite that is big enough to strike the ground (and not burn up in the atmosphere). Those would all be what are called “common occurrences”. And if no one has done any investigation or research on it (which they may not have...), then they are simply “unknown” right now, but may very well be related to those kinds of common occurrences.

The reason why many don’t even bother with such things and an investigation is — basically — because they are so common and ordinary in every-day life, that no one wants to bother chasing down every noise, or shake or rattle or anything like that — which goes on in our everyday lives. If I ended up chasing down every noise, or “flash of light” or some weird sound, or a sight out of the corner of my eye — I would get nothing done in a practical sense every day. I would end up spending about 12 hours a day doing investigations into weird noises, sights and sounds that I didn’t know anything about. We all hear them, see them and know about them all through our lives. Basically, what people do is simply ignore them as something that goes on all the time. They always have (at least throughout my life they have) and they always will go on.

Therefore, the *first thing* that has to be done — if one is to attach some “Biblical relevance” to this — is that someone is going to have to do a thorough investigation and separate this out from all the ordinary and common occurrences that already go on in everyone’s everyday life, as it is. Once such a thorough investigation is done, then one can decide as to what category to put it in. Short of that thorough investigation being done — all one has is simply something that happens to everyone all the time. (like I said, I hear sounds that I don’t know what they are, see a flash of light I don’t know what it is, see something out of the corner of my eye and miss it and did not know what it was, but *that is normal* for all human beings..., it’s no big deal...).

BUT HERE..., in the thing that I’ve quoted to you in the prior post — you’ve got a *real big problem*. It’s that you’ve described something as a “booming noise” — which is not even a *noise* in the first place. So, let’s say that some of these other noises are real — but they’ve not been investigated yet. And then you include “radio frequency noise” — in that list of “booming noises” — making it appear to be a “bigger list”. The problem is — you do *not have another booming noise* for that item that I quoted. It’s not even a *noise*. It’s something that shows up on a “meter” and *no human being* can “hear” it.

Thus — if you were to “make a case” for “booming noises” (after proper investigation, like I said up above) — you would be *killing your case* by seemingly not even realizing that one of the things you’ve included to “make your case” — is *not even a noise* in the first place.

That very thing — right there — would lead a lot of people to completely ignore *all* of what you say — since you’re not even properly distinguishing between “real noises” and something “on a meter”... The two don’t go together for “noises” that the human ear can hear.

So, you’ve actually got — *three different subjects* — going on all together — and all are unrelated to one another and they are “mixed together” — as if they are all related to “Biblical signs”. That kind of confusion and “mixing” and not realizing what they are — does not bode well for “making your case” to someone who may be unconvinced about the Bible, in the first place — not to say anything about making a case for “booming noises”...

And there’s a *real major problem*....

You’re going to have to be *extremely precise* — *very precise* on these things, if you really want to “make your case”. It has to be logically presented, it has to be investigated and *verified* and then it has to be related to what the Bible says (as in — the item being described can be positively related to a prophecy in the Bible that makes it clear that this is what is being spoken about). It all *has to connect* together and do so clearly, in reality and logically. The Bible is not a hodge-podge of myths and unrealities but it’s describing very real things in an everyday sense and made so we can understand it logically and “connect all the dots” without grasping at straws. In other words, it’s going to be *absolutely clear*...

Something I’ve wondered recently about is our state of readiness in defending against an “old school” attack by long-range Russian bombers, Russian ICBMs, etc. I have NEVER believed Russia to be our friend, Cold War or not, and I have believed it even less since the Putin era began. I think the man is greed and evil on the hoof. And what better time to strike with such an attack than now. Our entire operation is now geared against terror, and we have a naive moron in the White House now.
