SNIPPET: “This rumour/conspiracy has been knocking around for ages, it’s true, and was most publicly voiced by Rita Katz, director of the SITE Institute, in 2003. From the ‘other side’, Azzam Publications had in 2002 – the year JUS was launched – stated its misgivings about the site’s relationship with Western intelligence agencies.

I simply don’t know the truth about this. What I do know is that Jarret is right about the currency of this theory. Earlier this year I solicited the opinion of several European intelligence operatives about this and received a mixed response: a few just smiled knowingly but one openly stated that JUS was indeed a CIA front. I don’t know who to believe, to be frank.”

SNIPPET: “Framegrab Framegrab from an online video that was circulated in on online Muslim forum by Ottawa terror suspect Misbahuddin Ahmed. The video lashes out at the US-led invasion of Iraq, and is titled “Operation Iraqi Freedom: Where Are The Muslim Soldiers?” and supposedly made by Jihad Unspun”

SNIPPET: “The video was circulated by a man who used the online handle “Qutz,” but his email address indicates he is Misbahuddin Ahmed, 26, one of the Ottawa terror suspects arrested last week.”

SNIPPET: “Mr. Ahmed was allegedly chosen by his alleged co-conspirators, Hiva Mohammad Alizadeh and Khurram Syed Sher, to lead an ill-defined plot to conduct terrorist attacks in Canada. Bail hearings for the three men scheduled for this afternoon are expected to be subject to a publication ban, but the online writings of Qutz may provide some insight into the Pakistan-born terror suspect.”

SNIPPET: “The video Qutz linked to was on the website Jihad Unspun, which provided a sympathetic portrayal of Islamist terrorists but is no longer active.”
