President Obama's appearance on "The Tonight Show" - the first ever for a sitting chief executive - was only a small part of the president's so-called permanent campaign. A bigger move comes Saturday, when Obama will ask 13 million people on his campaign e-mail list to go door-to-door to raise support for his agenda.
The Pledge Project Canvass is an unprecedented effort by a president to reach beyond Congress and tap grassroots supporters for help. Volunteers recruited online by Obama's Organizing for America, a post-election group, will ask citizens to sign a pledge in support of the president's policies on energy, health care and education.
Those who pledge will be asked for their e-mail addresses so the Obama-ites can keep in touch.
"This is just the beginning for us," said Jeremy Bird, deputy national director of Organizing for America, in an online video to Obama supporters this week. "The establishment in Washington won't welcome this new direction easily. We can't let this plan be debated solely behind closed doors in Washington, D.C."

“...and for a president to stand there and act like some campaign device for four years straight....why even be president...just be candidate in running and be happy about this.”
I think we forget that the Lord punishes the unrepentant greedy and power-hungry with their corrupt desires...i.e. they CANNOT stop—”There is no rest, says my God, for the wicked”.
Better not show up on my door....
Very good point.
Come on. Come to my door just once, you smelly, emo brownshirts. I’ll even give you a cup of strong coffee.
Darn, the closest one to me is about 70 miles away. There are just 2 less than 100 miles away.
“Sorry, we could not find any events in your area.”
Hahahahahaha...No more obama signs anywhere..not even bumper stickers.
One person signed up in Topeka and three in Lawrence, KS (the most liberal place in Kansas). I could sign up :)
All printed out on fine grade paper highlighting the words, And to the Republic for which it Stands. A set of lines underneath for their signatures.
If they are truly citizens of the Republic they shouldn't have an issue with Pledging their Allegiance. No?
I need to print more Pledge of Allegiance signature forms!
Let me get this straight, they’re going to send someone to your door with a thick ebonic accent that you can barely understand or some greasy white kid with huge earlpugs, nosering and dreadlocks who doesn’t have a clue about the damage being done to our country in the hands of Obama and his lunatic Dem party and we’re suppose to sign a pledge of allegiance to them?Crack must be the main drug of choice of these people now a days. What else could it be?
Oh, I DO hope they come to my door.
(If you don’t see me posting here, you’ll know the brownshirts got me)
He can’t do pressers. Taking questions from the “news” people is a no-no.
It would be better to ask the jerk directly, but no. He has to go on Leno and make a mockery of the presidency.
FReepers WE CAN HAVE FUN WITH THIS!
Go to the site and find events near your location, then RSVP. You will not need to put in much info, and you can put in fake stuff and it will take it. You will notice at the bottom how many the event is limited to. Fill er up!!!
I noticed that even in WI and in the Peoples Republic of Madison there were not many meetings and there were only several people signed up. I noticed one with 0 people so I filled it up to capacity. You can also leave comments. I would imagine they are going to serve refreshments and maybe food at these shindigs. Imagine them planning for 50 people and only 5 show up. Get to work Freepers, lets rain on their parade!
Ha!
Sorry, we could not find any events in your area.
You can expand your search area to 100 miles,
or you can create an event of your own.
Thanks closest to me 20 miles. Besides If one of them was smart enough to know what it stands for the Gadsden Flag may tell them it’s a bad door to knock on.
When TOTUS no longer wants these “volunteers” will there be a Night of the Long Knives so the elite can become his personal bodyguard.
Pray for America!!
I expect we’ll see a few whiz-bang parties in the lib big cities where the drunks will shoot each other tonight.
Obuma will learn you can’t turn mad dogs loose without serious adult supervision.
Another obuma failure.
Within 45 miles of my nearest town there is ONE meeting today in a park near a highway 3 miles from here. No names listed. It is listed as a *conversation*.
We are hosting a shooting party for 6 other people today.
I hope they decide to canvass. (G) However, it looks like no one is willing to list their name, volunteer their home or even that they have any real organization. In an underpopulated rural area, we all know each other, so I am pretty sure we will be ignored.

A budget is more than simply numbers on a page. It is a measure of how well we are living up to our obligations to ourselves and one another. It is a test for our commitment to making America what it was always meant to be -- a place where all things are possible for all people. - President Barack Obama
What a load that is. The media will spend all day today trying to locate a meeting with more than 10 people at it and do a 2 minute story about how successful these “huge” events are ALL across the country. Count on it.
Classic use of peer pressure from neighbors and friends to put you in-line.....
.....If they do this well, they can create an "enemies" list by finding out who DID NOT SIGN.
Geeso Petes! 16!
You need to move, Eb.
This guy is going out of his way to make sure you feel his presence.
I don't like that.
Now TOTUS can plug itself in easier when it drops by to tell me how great 0bama is.
Birdshot?
Oh, clever!
Of course!
What else would you use on chicken$hit socialists.
Rock salt, but reloading these days is such a hassle.

My comments:
Whut on earf langige yo spekking?
Amazing deep in the hearts of Miami /Ft. Lauderdale and there is next to nothing in the way of canvassers except for a smattering of gay related political action round tables during a gay pride event.
I might even have to feed my dog.
I will have my paper shredder by the front door. Hopefully they will give me their clipboard to sign with all the other signatures on it. I can’t wait to see their faces when all the effort they put in for the day was cut to shreds.
Of course I will give them their clipboard back along with their shredded bag of signatures.
I was worried about getting into trouble, but instead there was a slew of interesting reactions.
I had to work, but didn't have a lunch. So I decided to stop at the grocery store on my way in to work. Sure enough...there they were in the parking lot. I parked to make sure I got approached.
Politely declined on the grounds I don't pledge to any man or any 0ne’s policies. I think they missed the pun, but I did offer them the opportunity to Pledge Allegiance to the Republic of the United States. The other person who had been filling out the form and asked what I was talking about. I simply restated that my pledge is the America as a whole country, not to just one man's policies. She took her sheet of the clipboard and tore it up and asked to sign mine as we walked away.
Sure enough as I got to work, there was someone there trying to get signatures. This time though it was a highschool student who volunteers their time to work with the injured animals brought in. I declined and explained where my true loyalties rested and went on inside to work. When I looked out the window, they were gone.
Coming home I needed to stop at the drugstore. Shoot, there was another group of them! I pulled my little Pledge of Allegiance sheet out and approached them. Again several people listening to what I simply stated as my reason for declining asked for their forms back and tore them up.
At the rate I've been going today I am thinking we should have had FReepers in the area or 912’ers. We could have successfully & peacefully countered these actions.
There is a group canvassing later this evening at the local faux mall. Might be just enough fun to have one more go at them.
This is an intimidation tactic. Like “card check” but for the whole country. You have to state your support. No secret ballot.

Great job
Sounds like I’m missing the party. No door knocks today so far and even running errands haven’t seen any of em. Guess my local paper overstated the zombie invasion.
Reminds me of a childhood rhyme “Smarty had a Party and no one showed”. This was supposed to be huge.
The local OFA group met at 10:00 a.m. I never saw them in the neighborhood (kept looking for the blue shirts and clipboards, but saw only the usual Saturday strollers and shoppers). Later that afternoon I saw a couple of likely-looking people outside a restaurant on a street corner, but I wasn't sure. I might encounter some at the grocery store this evening; there are usually clipboard holders of some sort trying to collar people on their way in or out (why management doesn't complain, I'm not sure).
Over 2 hours away for me...Kind of comforting, you know?
BEWARE ALL!! Today was not the only day they are doing this...I also saw 3/22, 3/23, 3/26, & 3/27...Be sure & use the link to check for your zip code...
If nothing else, EBH, what you have described are perfect examples of how a Leader with a SOLID message of patriotism can sway the minds of people who are looking for a cause.
They have spent years making the Pledge of Allegiance controversial. Think about that for a minute. They took prayer out of the schools and what did they do to the Pledge? Marginalized it, erased understanding of it, even made those who say it...seem radical. And yesterday here they were asking people to pledge to one man and his policies in a bill that spends trillions of dollars. The form they were using asked for your name, address, phone number, and email too. Mine was simply a signature line and I let the individuals actions speak louder than words.
The Pledge of Allegiance and a simple statement of refusal to pledge to one man or one man's policies.
I figured I would at least run into one bunch of them. I didn't think it would be more than a few and I didn't consider what others reactions might be to hearing where my loyalties rested and were pledged to the Republic of the United States.
