Bobby Rush, a former member of an organization known for killing police officers, doesn't want honest people to own guns
We have written here frequently about the importance of the Second Amendment in the defense of the United States against militant "Muslims" and other terrorists. Although militant "Muslims" feel free to perpetrate rampant violence and gang rape in Europe, these practices are far less frequent here because of the widespread private ownership of firearms.
Representative Bobby Rush (D-IL), a former Black Panther and a convicted felon whose illegal possession of firearms lost him his own right to own firearms, has proposed a bill to require licensing of all handguns and semiautomatic firearms (H.R. 45). Although he managed to receive an honorable discharge from the Armed Forces, his service record includes an incident of Absent Without Leave (AWOL). Bobby Rush is therefore just another common criminal and jailbird who resents the fact that law-abiding people can own the means with which to protect themselves from terroristic violence.
Then again, given Bobby Rush's own ties with the Black Panthers, perhaps he is sympathetic to terrorists of all stripes, not just militant "Islamic" ones. As Bobby Rush's former associates said, "The Revolution has co-ome, it's time to pick up the gu-un. Off the pigs! [Kill the police officers!]" Meanwhile, "From the fall of 1967 through the end of 1969, nine police officers were killed and 56 were wounded in confrontations with the Panthers." The United States does not need advice from a convicted felon and an associate of cop-killers to tell it how to reduce violent crime.

Obama’s mentor
It used to be if you were a convicted felon, you lost your right to vote for the rest of your life. Now, they hold office and sponsor legislation!!!!! Idiocracy!
Ummm... That's the point. They don't want anyone to be able to stop the reparations.
Future Candidate 2012 for the Democrat party I imagine.
Not for POTUS. The One will be up for reelection.
Bobby is a worthless piece of crap.
The effects of a felony conviction vary by state. Federalism and all that.
In some states, even imprisoned felons can vote.
Is this just based on the sponsorship of HR45, or is it in response to the weekend’s events in Oakland?
No, that is not accurate. Obama nearly derailed his political career by running against Bobby Rush in 1999.
There is no love lost between those two.
Well Said!
That’s teh equivalent of Al Sharpton stepping on Jesse Jackson’s turf.
I called Rush’s office in D.C. about his legislation. When I asked whether Bobby Rush, who used to be a Black Panther when they were known for carrying guns, thought that it was confusing for him to disarm americans. The woman who responded to me immediately said that this would help law enforcement, who favored the Bill.
She then asked whether Iwould be questioning this if I had a loved one who had been killed by a firearm. I responded that that had nothing to do with the proposed legislation. She slammed the phone down.
Bobby Rush is a hypocrite and a threat to every law abiding gun owner in this country. Basically is now a fascist and while he won’t get this piece of legislative garbage through Congress, his intention isclear.
That Nancy “Nutty” Pelosi has already urged that they move away from gun control because she remembers what happened to Democrats when bill Clinton tried this, suggests that Democrats under her control will not vote for this measure.
Rush is a fool for even proposing this piece of trash, but the people who vote for him in his district are the same one who voted for Obama. They are too ignorant to understand the implications of what Rush is trying to do.
No surprise. Criminals love gun control, and Rush is a convicted criminal.
Be that as it may, your statement that Bobby Rush was Obama's "mentor" just isn't accurate.
Perhaps.
Clinton pal Bobby Rush: I’m supporting Obama

Which came as a shock to many here in Chicago, given the fact that there is no love lost between Bobby Rush and Obama. Plenty of people plenty of candidates, but that doesn't create or denote a "mentor" status.
I'm not sure if you're still trying to argue that Bobby Rush is Obama's "mentor," but anyone familiar with Illinois politics would chuckle at that idea.
I recall Liddy saying, “As a convicted felon, I do not have the right to own a firearm. Of course, Mrs. Liddy is well-armed, and if she chooses to keep her loaded revolver on my side of the bed, who am I to say no?”
Appears to be a good candidate for the Senate.
lol Very well said
If anyone needed any more proof that the foxes are running the chicken coop nowadays, look no further.
Not idiocy — APATHY AND COMPLACENCY among the law-abiding, decent folk the late Paul Weyrich (Paul invented the term) and Jerry Falwell used to call the “Silent Majority.”
Past time we started RAISING SOME HELL about things like this.
Buy gold and ammo!
Be Ever vigilant!
If I had my way, there would be swift and severe punishment for any elected representative or appointed bureaucrat who even proposed such obviously unConstitutional legislation or advocated same.
Everything seems so upside-down and bass-ackwards; we can't be far off now.

who listens to a convicted felon.
It really chaps my a$$ that guys (or gals) like this can even be CongressCritters.
Which is more dangerous, a single felon with a gun, or a felon making law at the federal level? I'd say the lawmaker. You can shoot the felon with a gun, if he does anything to deserve it, but unless he "serves" your district, you can't do jack shiite about a rogue Congressman.
By default you still do, at least in some states. But you can petition a judge to reinstate it. Not so your RKBA, which by law must be restored by the BATFE (yea right), but also by law the BATFE cannot spend any money on restoring the rights of felons, so they don't.
Now, they hold office and sponsor legislation!!!!! Idiocracy!
Welcome to Bizzaro World.
She just opposes, tactically, gun control that Congress need to vote on. She has urged President Messiah to end imports of "assault weapons", including parts kits, and some ammunition. Pretty much 7.62x39, 5.56x41 and 5.54x39 and other "assault weapon" ammunition, including the 5.7x28 even if loaded with the non-AP bullets.
An import ban would tend to drive prices way up, making practice and plinking much less affordable.
After reading this crap around here today, if we submit to all of this BS, we deserve what we get.
Unfortunately, no. But we wouldn't want to do that anyway. Only the Northern section, in fact only Chicago and a few nearby counties. The rest of the state suffers from them far more than those of us in the rest of the country. But we can't do that either, since the Constitution, Art IV, sec. 3, forbids creating a state out of part of a state without permission from that state's legislature.
However Article IV, section 4, mandates (It says the United States "shall") that the United States guarantee to each state a Republican Form of Government, which clearly Illinois does not have. Nor do several other states whose urban dominated legislatutes have run roughshod over the rights of their minority rural and suburban citizens.
So it is possible that Something Could Be Done. If that is the Urban Machines did not also control the US Congress and Presidency.
The (D) is just coincidence without reason I guess.
“But we can’t do that either, since the Constitution, Art IV, sec. 3, forbids creating a state out of part of a state without permission from that state’s legislature.”
West Virgina comes to mind.
One step on the trek to anarchy.
The question is, how many steps are required to complete the journey in completion?
Yes it does, doesn't it?
Lincoln had it both ways. States could not secede from the Union, but because Virgina was "in Rebellion", the Antislavery western portion could secede from it.
Bottom line, West Virginia is an illegitimate and unconstitutional state, with an unconstitutional delegation in Congress, especially it's Senior Senator.
Both...Why not...Makes sense to them...
When they pull this trigger, it’ll be a good thing that its a blank that pops off...
But that’s ok, it is a sure thing for our side to benefit if they do press this issue...
Even if it passes and is signed into law...Guess what...Nancy Pelosi is right dead on the money with this...
We can and will survive a new and improved Super-AWB and this HR45...
Just sit back and think about it for a little while...It’ll be ok...Trust me...;-)
He’s from Chicago. Crooks are the only kind of politician they have there.
Once a communist street thug, always a communist street thug. That’s the Chicago way. Just as Rahm Emanuel. He’s the man!
a former member of an organization known for killing police officers, doesn't want honest people to own guns
If you can vote, you can own and CARRY a gun. Same tests should apply.
You want convict Black Panthers for your elected representatives? You want a cursing slumlord for your Governor? Hmm.
