“In 1738, the Scottish Haggis Bag makers guild was becoming older by the day and after considerable nearly violent ruckus, decided to poll the those known as Haggis Blenders to determine if they would be admitted to the guild.”

“Each haggis blender was given a black stone and a tan stone to be dropped into a pewter pitcher as they passed by.”Having laid the historical precedent, the Senator continued, “I have searched my soul on this weighty matter that is coming before our body of serious deliberation and can not help but follow this precedent that speaks so clearly to us from our noble past. “

So you’re saying you understand why he’s been wrestling with it?

There are quite a few RATS that will vote against it.

I doubt it can pass as currently written.

No I don’t understand why he’s wrestling with it.

If the process of democracy is compromised, either through loss of earned representation, loss of fair voting, or loss of free political speech...then the only resolution is violence.

Open voting is not fair voting. If voting to join a union is not private, then I will physically prevent union reps from conducting such a vote. If they can be unfair, then so can I.

How can those failed incompetent boobs be so proud of themselves?

Neither of the three amounts to more than a boil on the ass of a real Senator...

Let’s not count our chickens. He was pushing for an open primary to allow Dems and union people to vote for him in the 2010 primary.

They cut all sorts of deals so some other RINOs may be voting for him. Maybe Lindsay Graham or Mel Martinez or some other stinking RINO.

But you said "I’m not sure why anyone who respects the processes of democracy would even have a second thought over this".

So, you see, you DO understand why Sen Sphincter might have second thougths about it.

;^)

The Democrats have their eyes on Specter’s seat. They’re not his friends, but some Republicans just can’t be convinced.
