The move comes as the House is about to start wading through Obama's $3.6 trillion budget Wednesday.

House Democratic leaders have decided against using fast-track budget rules to ram through President Obama's environmental initiative known as cap and trade, FOX News has confirmed.

The move comes as the House is about to start wading through Obama's $3.6 trillion budget Wednesday.

Special budget rules enable lawmakers to use what's called "reconciliation" which synchs up the tax code with each year's budget needs. Budget rules are unique in Congress. And the typical Senate option of filibustering a measure is not allowed in reconciliation.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., has advocated moving Obama's environmental plan, known as cap and trade, through the Senate on reconciliation so it won't be subject to a filibuster or need a supermajority of 60 votes to break a filibuster...

Reconciliation is very dangerous. It means a bill must be passed in 20 hours with no revision or amendment, and can be passed with a simple majority. This is NOT good news.

This is NOT good news.

What do you mean? This means a ruinously expensive 'cap and trade' has to get 60 votes in the Senate, not just a majority.

No, it means the opposite. Reconciliation rules out a filibuster. Therefore 51 votes wrecks the American economy.

Do I have a deal for you!

You can own a “Home CO2 Climate Control System” and save a bundle on your Utilities bill. Let my “Home CO2 Climate” computer model show you how much you will save.*

Here how it works. We all know that if you can increase the CO2 in an atmosphere less heat energy will escape. You have the same type of atmosphere inside as there is outside your home. So if you double or triple the amount of CO2 there will a corresponding decrease in the amount of energy needed to heat your home. Likewise, if you want to cool your home, my “Home CO2 Climate Control System” will remove heat trapping CO2 and allow more heat energy to escape your home.

Sale price for my “Home CO2 Climate Control System” is just $4500.00 installed. ** Plus a $75.00 monthly maintenance agreement.

Here the best part. Once we have a CO2 Cap and Trade in place, the power companies (with the government’s blessing) will pay me $5000.00 per units built (not sold -hehe haha). Of course the power companies will past that cost right back to you in higher utility bills.

President and CEO of HCCS INC
Your buddy AL (Madoff got nothing on me)

PS
Got to fly I’m meeting with GE, Big banking firms, natural gas providers, commodities brokers, and the some nuclear companies to plan our lobbing moves (ARM TWISTING MONEY ).

*There are no peer reviewed studies or lab controlled experiments available for the Home CO2 Climate computer model. Just take my word. It Works.

** Base on a 1000 sq ft three bedroom house.

Any economically ruinous legislation that is passed during slObama’s term with a simple majority, should be wholly subject to absolute revocation with the same simple majority.

No excuses, no compromise, no deals.

This should be our blood-oath among Conservatives.

[[earth is cooling, Obama can take credit for that and I don’t care as long as he just lets us alone.]]

Despite hte earth ooling for over a decade now, Obama and dems are NOT going to leave us alone because cap-n-trade is a gargantuan golden goose for them- they smell $$, and the $$ they smell is ours- epw.senate.gov which is run by Senator Inhoffe, has a TON of scientific evidence showing that the warming spell we experienced was a purely natural one, and that we are NOT to blame, but again, the dems smell $$, and cap and trade WILL be passed, and we ALL will suffer for it- there is already talk about installing GPS systems in cars to record how many miles we drive, and we’ll be taxed if we go over an alloted milage- gasoline IS goign to go back up because businesses will be taxed and fined to death because of cap-n-trade, and will have to boost prices to compensate which will inturn cause less spending (because we won’t be able to pay hte higher prices), and the oil companies will be forced to raise prices because delivery companies will go under, people will be forced to travel less, and the oil companies will lose $$

Cheery scenario eh?

That’s how I read the article also, although it is worded in a confusing manner. I believe fast track and reconciliation are the same thing and it has been ruled out for cap and trade but is still being considered for the health care bill.

Thanks for small favors. On some of the remaining controversial issues, Dems face a dilemma.

If they try to push this sh** through now, they may not have enough votes.

If they wait for Franken to steal Coleman's seat and Kennedy and Byrd (who voted against amnesty) to be replaced, it may be too close to the 2010 elections. And, who knows, they could lose some seats in those elections even if they stop doing damage now.

They know if they do cap and trade, they lose all the votes they got from Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and other coal states when those people open their first energy bill after it goes in effect. Tea parties will grow in size by double and triple (or more) of their previous numbers.

At least that will be from those who pay their own energy bill. Because that POS will exempt a ton of people from having to carry their own weight. Thats a given.

Cap & trade would kill hundreds of thousands of jobs, making the economic crisis worse. Even without it, unemployment is likely to hit 12% or more.
