California's Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has generally declined to discuss his future after term limits end his tensure in the state Capitoln January, 2011.
... Schwarzenegger, a Republican who's been discussed as a potential opponent next year for Democrat U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer said he's not running for anything.
... Now I raised taxes, but Im not running for anything, Schwarzenegger said. So Im more comfortable with it because Im not running for anything, because I know its the right thing. Even though I promised the people of California Im not going to raise taxes, at the same time I said Im not going to sign a pledge, because what if theres an emergency?
Asked if that meant he had ruled out a race against Boxer, the governor said: "When I say Im not running for anything, thats exactly what I mean .. until you change the Constitution. ...
Being born in Austria, any presidential ambitions for the Terminator are terminated by the U.S. constitution.

Don’t hold your breath, Arnold. Go run for President in Austria.
Why can’t he run for president? Its not like anyone will check his birth certificate...
So what Ah-nold. Conservatives hate you. Democrats hate you. You couldn’t get elected dog catcher.
How ‘bout running far away from the USA, Ah-nold?
Arnold Schwarzenegger: “I’m not running for anything”
Thank You Arnold. Now I can rest easier tonight. Now go back and press your lips firmly back on Obama’s behind, do what you do best
Nobody I know would vote for you anyway.
Stand for nothing, fall for anything.
what a maroon.
the California economy needs massive tax hikes
I will never forget the so-called republicans in this state who just could not get enough of drooling all over Schwartzenkennedy. Don’t blame me, I supported McClintock!
...Im not running for anything, so screw you guys! Enjoy your new higher taxes.
Sure thing, Governator. The only good thing about you is you’re terminating out.
I thought he’d really like to run for President.
If they can still do it. Leave in a loud blast of fire.
no one would vote for ahnold.
When I say Im not running for anything, thats exactly what I mean ..
until you change the Constitution. ...
Didn’t stop 0bama.
Best news I have heard all day!
All I need is two pairs of pants and two shirts to be REPLACED. There is nothing else that needs replacement. That's the way it is going to go as they want to go that way.
Thanks! My answer would’ve been the same.
Go run for President in Austria.
He can do dat, you know? Huh?
Dual citienship and all.. :-)
until no-one is selling shirts that nobody can afford any way
Yep, and he has role models there. ;-)
he should never be president.
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA. This guy is such a joke.
Just a thought. What if he decided to seek the presidency and refused to provide proof of eligibility or acknowledge proof of ineligibility provided by anyone else? Who would have standing to challenge him and in what forum would they mount that challenge? Does this provision in the constitution have any real meaning absent an enforcement mechanism?
I don't think he would have a chance at being elected but just the possibility is interesting in light of the lack of official interest in putting to rest question about eligibility of our current president.
...Im not running for anything, thats exactly what I mean”
Now, why couldn’t Ah-nold have said that 6 years ago and saved us all a lot of grief?
It was determined that Barack Obama was indeed foreign born but was allowed to retain the office of the Presidency, anyway.Nightmarish, huh?
That then opened the door for Arnold Schwarzenegger...
Despite the merit or lack of merit of the case against the president, now that the door has been opened, it is unrealistic to think that the issue will not arise again. Whether it is citizenship, age or even time of residence in the United States some clear method must be established for adjudicating the question of basic eligibility.
I am sure the Court would like to avoid the controversy but ever since Marberry vs. Madison when they established their authority over constitutional questions, they have owned these type issues. They can settle the matter now or kick the can down the road and leave someone else to deal with it.
Talking about a nightmare, just think of Governor Schwarzenegger leaving the Republican Party and running for president as a Democrat.
It’s like Grey Davis never left.
