Several major GOP power brokers with ties to convicted former Orange County Sheriff Michael S. Carona are about to lose their concealed weapons permits under an order by the new sheriff.

Those who have received notices of revocation from Sheriff Sandra Hutchens include Michael Schroeder, chief political and legal advisor to Carona and a former chairman of the state Republican Party; Adam Probolsky, a GOP pollster; and Stephen Mensinger, a political ally of Carona and business executive for major GOP benefactor and developer George Argyros, public records show.

“O.C. sheriff revoking concealed weapons permits..”

Just ‘cause, right? Gosh, when I grew up, we were taught that we a nation under the “rule of law”, not under the “rule of Men” or, in this case, “woman.”

When do we start the revolution?

Never mind the question, should people need a permit to carry a gun in the first place? I always thought the Bill of Rights was just that, not the Bill of Privileges.

Kaleefornia is long over due for someone to push a proposition to cancel the authority of Police Chiefs and Sheriff’s to decide who does or does not get a permit. The law should simply be that an adult who is not convicted of a felony should not be prohibited from concealed carry.

Maybe an amendment to the Constitution would work? Something simple like "The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

When do we start the revolution?

Much like the war against Islam, it has already begun.

We just haven't gotten into the game yet.

Soon, very soon. Keep your powder dry and don't reveal any personal information publicly.

Well, yeah, that goes without saying. How far we have allowed the Government to whittle away at our rights... sad.

The Sheriff-ette will probably win on this. California is not a "shall issue" state so the power lies with the politicians.

Sheriffs and Chiefs of Police are almost always politicians first and cops a distant second. This woman is no different.

Did Carona hook up his buddies with permits? Yeah, probably. But notice the Sheriff-ette said,
"...the sheriff's actions are purely intended to bring consistency and provide [permits] to people who have a valid and significant reason to fear for their safety."

"Valid and significant"...in other words general "self-defence" is not a valid reason. Sorry peasant.

I wonder if one received a permit from another state could one carry in OC? Why is there reciprocity with driver’s licenses and not with CCW?

Fine. Just send the “revocation order” back to the sheriff with a nice letter and a copy of the constitution. Better make it a copy in big print with lots of footnotes. I’m sure it is something with which she is completely unfamiliar.
