"Open Arctic water presents a great abundance of resources."

It would. Unfortunately there isn't any, at least not long enough to drill anything. There is open water caused by shifting winds, not "Gore-Bull warming". Anything stuck in the ice, say a drill rig, would move with the ice. It'd be hell on drill shafts.

Thanks Nathan, I've been moving and trying to stay a breast of the situation at the top of the world.

I remember from a few years ago the Russians claimed a lot of sea bed.

I took this article as a attempt again by them to assert sovereignty over the resources.
