It is no doubt this will be a hard fought and probably nasty campaign from both sides but don’t forget KBH does well statewide or has done so in the past. The democrats have apparently abandoned having a big name candidate in the govs race and are concentrating on her Senate seat or so it’s been said.

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has endorsed Rick Perry for re-election, calling him the "true conservative" in a primary election showdown with fellow Republican Kay Bailey Hutchison.

"He walks the walk of a true conservative. And he sticks by his guns – and you know how I feel about guns," she said.

We can’t expect anything less from Kay, whose anti-Palinism reflects her home county of Dallas, which voted for obama last year.

Hutchison is taking an ENORMOUS risk by attacking Palin. If I’m not mistaken, Sarah is well loved by Texans.

How did Texas end up electing a “mildly pro-choice” senator like Hutchison and (in the ‘90s) a pro-abortion governor like Ann Richards, anyway?

I say, NOWAYKAY!!!!!

Let's put it this way, I've seen cars with the McCain/Palin sticker still on, but the McCain part torn off..

I’ve been active in Republican politics in our county for years, and have know that Hutchison has wanted to run for Governor for many years. Each time she has been told to stay in the Senate. I think that it was good advice.

I’ve written to her several times about issues and I never get an answer until maybe 2 months down the road when it comes by snail mail. I write John Cornyn and get an immediate response. I have already gotten requests for money from her to run for Governor. Now, I figure if she has the time to ask me for money, she should have the time to acknowledge and answer my questions.

If she runs to the left, I’ll vote for Perry. He appears to be coming out more conservative than she is. We have some great people in Texas who can take her place who are totally conservative. The majority of Texans are conservative, not Liberals, and after Obama and the Democrat Our Gang comedians in Congress, they’re becoming a lot more conservative. Kay should keep her day job.

maybe because she believes she should have been the first republican woman president, not Palin.

Bailey is nothing short of a RINO in a skirt!

Give the "charmer" a quick ticket to enjoy her extremely beneficial retirement, on all of our tax dollars, naturally!!

I’m not the biggest Palin fan but has Huchinson ever even been to TX? I think she lives in DC.

With Michael Williams running for her Senate seat, it will do FReepers good to really stand up against her, we get a strong Conservative in the Senate and she is sent out to pasture when she loses the governor race.

That was nasty out of the moderate to liberal Hutchison. What a total jerk to take a swipe at Sarah like that. Disgusting.

Some of the people on here that support her need a wake-up call.

Making fun of Sarah Palin to get elected Governor of Texas is probably not too smart of a strategy.

I don’t think the county vote is a good indicator as all the counties [Bexar, Dallas, Harris, Tarrant, Travis] with the major cities voted for Obama including Travis Gov. Perry’s home for the last two decades....

Well that does it for me, dissing Palin and voting for that GIVE Hitler Youth thing, Hutchison just lost any consideration of a vote from me. Perry it is.

After her vote for the Obama corps and this comment I wouldn't vote for her if she ran for local dog catcher.

Years ago, when she was running for Senate the first time, she identified herself to me as being for “freedom of choice” concerning abortion. When I told her I could not vote for her because life is the most important issue for me, she informed me that she could win without pro-life votes. She was right, but at least I have never voted for her.
Incredibly, she has adopted her two children. Fortunately, their birth mothers did not believe in abortion.
