John McCain has been to hell and back, and I can’t begrudge him the respect he deserves for that.
But I was flabbergasted when he said that of one he should know is a vital organ of the headless Soviet beast that thrives in our land.
Come to think of it though, except for his more or less solid nationalism, he plays the useful idiot rather well. I don’t believe the traits are necessarily exclusive
After that reply to the crowd McCain went to DC and signed that 1st Crapola TARP bill. So much for the ‘Maverick’ going to DC, naming names and making the pols ‘famous’. He proved he was one of them with gutlesss non-leadership. After that he was toast!

The first inkling I had that MCCain/Sarah would lose is when McCain went back to Washington and then signed a pork filled bill after campaigning on the promise to get rid of all pork before signing as President.
Second was this statement to supporters about his trust in Obama....bad mistakes.
IMO he may have had a much better chance of winning if he sided with the Rep. House and said no to the first “bailout” regardless what everyone did.
