Iranian Delegation in N. Korea to Monitor the Missile Launch

2009.3.28 20:09

While N. Korea is yet to launch its long-range missile, a group of 15 Iranians have been reportedly staying in N. Korea for 28 days since March 1st, according to authoritative source on N. Korean affairs. Following the invitation of N. Korean government, the group is participating in the launch preparation which would last 8 days until Apr. 4, and would also observe the launch. It reveals the close cooperation between N. Korea and Iran on ballistic missile development again.

The visiting Iranians are high-level figures and others from SHAHID HEMMAT INDUSTRIAL GROUP(SHIG) which is involved in satellite development. Technicians from SHIG were present at (failed) Taepodong-2 launch in July, 2006. At the time, missile specialists from Revolutionary Guard (of Iran) were there, too.

According to the source, some Iranians in the group delivered a personal letter from Iranian President Ahmadinejad to General Secretary Kim Jong-il. In the letter, Ahmadinejad is said to reaffirm the close cooperation for satellite project between the two countries, and wishe the speedy recovery of Kim Jong-il from his illness.

Opportunity knocks as the perfect storm forms over NK...

I love the smell of split rocket fuel burnin earlie in the mornin. And the flames? It’s like the devil himself has released his finest most brilliant sources of melanj, samine, and isonite, directly from the bowels of hell. One can witness their performance for miles and miles and miles and miles and miles... as they perform seemingly endlessly for hours on end, like a well heeled chorus of perfectly formed spatial isotopes.

“Poetry?” Good grief, I was aiming for prose.;-)

Anywho, the situation is still potentially the perfect (fire)storm. NK and Iranian “rocket scientists” in one place. Yea baby!

What is worse, it is shaping up to be a multiple (test) strike.

i.e. at the time they go with Taepodong-2 up at Musudan-ri complext in Hwadae County (up near Kimchaek) along the east coast, further down the coast near Wonsan they are probably going to let loose modified scuds or No-dong missiles, aimed at Japan (Sea of Japan). If they do like they did several Julys ago, they will launch a few scuds, then light the big candle, and then launch a few more scuds or Nodong for quite a day of activity. Japan and US forces up in Sea of Japan are going to have quite a lot on their hands next weekend. (Japanese news sources a few hours ago).
