Obama is weighing military, diplomatic cooperation with Tehran
The additional "gestures" Barack Obama's spokesmen promised Iran would follow on the presidential new year message may presage a dramatic U-turn on Iran, including even an astonishing offer of US-Iranian military and diplomatic cooperation - that is if the Islamic Republic decides to play ball.
Israel's AMAN military intelligence director, Maj. Amos Yadlin updated the Knesset foreign affairs and security committee on the state of Iran's nuclear progress Wednesday, March 25. He reported that although Iran is only months away from a capacity to make a nuclear bomb and has attained a warhead capability, Tehran has decided not to cross the threshold so as to avoid provoking Western retaliation.
DEBKAfile's military sources report this is not Tehran's true rationale. The Iranians are held back by two more compelling motives:
1. They will not be satisfied with a single nuclear bomb, but would rather build up an arsenal of 10 to 12 bombs and warheads for which they are short of enough enriched uranium at the moment.
2. Tehran is no longer deterred by fear of an American or European attack, Yadlin explained in his briefing Wednesday. Its leaders are standing by to see what rewards are on offer from US president Barack Obama for improving Washington-Tehran and how they may profit in strategic, diplomatic and economic terms. If the American incentives fall short, Tehran can push ahead with its nuclear weapon.
In his briefing, Yadlin avoided pointing out that Obama's projected rewards for Tehran would be at the expense of Israel's strategic standing or even its military might. This awareness has prompted the sharply conflicting US and Israel intelligence evaluations of the point at which Iran's nuclear bomb program stands at present.
While the AMAN chief says the capability is there but not yet fulfilled, the Americans speak of a timeline of 1-5 years or more.
Until now, both Western and Israeli experts maintained Iran has not yet acquired the technology for mounting nuclear warheads on missiles. Yadlin now reveals Tehran is already there, a conclusion reached after the Iranians sent their first earth satellite, Omid, into space on Jan. 3. The launch meant that Iran can deliver nuclear warheads by ballistic missile to any point on earth.
Can’t trust Obama. Vote to get these clowns out of power.
Before we overreact consider the source..
I hate this guy more every day.
We are living in terrible times and about to live in worse.
How is bat boy these days anyway? I think Debka says somewhere he will be placed high in the cabinet...
I was like “Uh Oh, he just crossed the line” until I saw that the article was from Debka. We can breathe a sigh of relief (For now)...
We are doomed with this guy in office. God help us.
Probably up in the belfry...
Sadly that may not give us a source of relief these days.
DEBKA is due for the “Stopped Clock” story.
Would it be racist or just a point of history that there are not great black leaders or black countries or cities or states or companies led by a black.
Lets hope the pilot of Air Force One secures a place in history for himself.
"Policy in this administration is like the weather -- if you don't like it, wait a minute, if you still don't like it, don't worry, I'll never get anything done anyway."
hahahahahahahah roflmao roflmao roflmao
best laugh I’ve had all week
geesh...just so we can’t fight against our own weapons in the future.
I wonder how the Jewish vote feels now...bunch of fools!!!
Even if the source is DEBKA, given the current administration, it would not surprise me in the least if 0bama was considering this and more.
He weighed it and and it was far too heavy for him.
Hillary said she wold be using “smart power” to deal with a lot of these countries... wonder when that will take effect..
I’m planning on leaving yet, but I printed out passport apps for my whole family tonight.
We are going to the post office this week to get passport for us all.
My friend lives in Panama and it’s an out to be able to send my kids if need be. I plan to fight, but I also plant to not wait until there are 40000 people ahead of me in the passport line.
Today pushed me over the edge with the GE CEO fiasco.
Obama is worse than I ever imagined. I mean I didn’t like his politics, but I am mor than convinced he is evil.
It might be racist, but it doesn’t make it not true.
We are living in terrible times and about to live in worse.
The time is now. Stand up to them or get out and enjoy the rest of your life. I see no other choice other than to live as a slave to a corrupt government.
Obviously I wouldn’t be a loyal freeper if I didn’t stand up to them...been doing that for a long time.
But this evil breed are the worst this country has seen ever...and in such a dangerous era. Scary. But I have faith...
You have a very pleasant profile page.
Thank you very much.:)
this act will kill more of our boys in uniform.
Obama is getting his clock cleaned worse than Carter with Breshnev.
If youd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.
Present FR Jews excepted, I hope. Like Mark Levin, we would never have supported this fool.
Yeah I just can’t understand how so many decided to vote for Obama. I really didn’t get that one.
It seems obvious that Obama wants Israel neutralized or even destroyed in favor of improving relations with Muslims.
Personally I think it should be the other way around. Whether we like it or not we probably can’t trust the Muslim’s agenda long-term. I don’t think it is in the best interest of our way of life. Freedom has a cost and it sure isn’t worth compromising to improve relations with groups that embrace stone age doctrines.
Right on, ariamne. During the campaign last year, Jewish Republicans (and others) were warning people about what seems to be unfolding now: Obama reaching out to Iran and compromising Israel’s security. Unfortunately, too many Jewish voters (though less than the 78% claimed in inaccurate polls) fell for the pro-O propaganda spewed by people like Congressman Robert Wexler (D-FL). Wexler and his pals probably have no regrets, because they are far more interested in pushing the US to the hard left than they are in Israel’s fate.
Yeah, I’m a moron.
lol...did you vote for Obama?
No, I voted for Palin and that white-haird guy who ran with her.
And I am Jewish.
But, according to you, all Jews are stupid liberals.
Sorry you misunderstood my point.
There were large blocks of the Jewish vote that went ALL IN for Obama. Obviously if you didn’t vote for him then you would not fit in my comment.
I also did not say that all Jews are stupid liberals...I said the Jews that voted for Obama were foolish.
Do you disagree with that?
I mean how could anyone especially Jewish agree to support a person who was clearly backed by George Soros - a Jew whose family were NAZI collaborators.
So I think my comment is justified I think the Jewish vote that went for Obama were foolish, very foolish. Hopefully those that voted for Obama will do the right thing when the time comes and volunteer for the Israeli infantry and go fight for the country they doomed!
Your brush was broad, and that was my point.
Generalized comments about Jewish folk is really not a great idea. Many of the leading conservative advocates are Jewish -— Eric Cantor, Mark Levin, Jonah Goldberg, Lucianne Goldberg (by conversion, I think), etc.
It’s grating to be lumped in with stupid JINOs.
Also, as an aside, the JINOS are no more Jewish than Nancy Pelosi, Ted Kennedy, and John Kerry are Roman Catholic. They “self-identify” as Jewish in the polls -— defined as “Jewish by ethnicity or religion” -— and they may or may not actually be “Jewish” as defined by the Law.
Whatever they are, liberal Jews, like liberal Christians, are not observant. They don’t give a damn about Israel, and can’t be expected to protect her.
