NEW YORK, March 29, 2009 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ ----As the debate over the rescue of the financial system - which is crucial in stabilizing the economy and returning the country to prosperity - unfolds, Paul Krugman has emerged as President Barack Obama's toughest liberal critic, writes Newsweek Editor-at-Large Evan Thomas in his profile of Krugman in the current issue. Krugman, a columnist for The New York Times, a professor at Princeton and a Nobel Prize winner in economics, was a scourge of the Bush administration, but has been critical, if not hostile, to the Obama White House, skeptical of the bank bailout and pessimistic about the economy. As the debate continues, there are worries among the establishment that his "despair" over the administration's bailout plan might be right. "Krugman may be exaggerating the decay of the financial system or the devotion of Obama's team to preserving it. But what if he's right, or part right?," Thomas writes. "What if President Obama is squandering his only chance to step in and nationalize...the banks before they collapse altogether?," he writes in the April 6 Newsweek cover, "Obama Is Wrong" (on newsstands Monday, March 30).

Krugman is a self-aggrandizing twit. Nothing he says is worth the time to read. Just sayin’
Krugman is a horse’s patootee.
I figure that attacking Obama from the left merely enables Obama to move further left. That’s what really happened with the AIG bonuses scandal. There may be even some reason to believe that the Obama administration and his buddies at ACORN were the tail that wagged the dog in the first place.
I didn’t read anything more than what’s posted here, but it sounds like the problem in Krugman’s mind is that Obama isn’t moving toward national socialism quickly enough?
I still don’t think it was very wise to choose this moment in history to send a community organizer to the White House for on the job training. But that’s just me.
I can’t wait for the Krugman’s “Jim Cramer” turnaround . . . coming soon to an Obama owned MSM near you.
Maybe these “News” guys are using Obama’s 60 % Tax calculation to “visualize” their future ?
That is it exactly.
The bottom line is nobody reads the articles...but stupid people see the cover on grocery lines and doctor’s offices. So it works for me.
The problem is, I don't think his readership is smart enough to pick up on this, so all they will see is “Obama is Wrong” from a rag they trust, and they will leave it at that. A net win, because this will only server to further drive down the Celebrity in Chief's approval rating.
Heh, same take as mine. Read my #12.
It being Krugman, that would be so predictable. Johnny One Note that he is.
Obama (actually the Dem Congress) is wrong ... but not in the way Krugman is saying.
Leave it to you two to find the silver lining!
If it creates more Democrat leadership infighting than it pulls Obama leftward, good. But I wonder how much influence Krugman has and where it lies.
Go to your bookstore and shake out all the Newsweak subscription litter cards. Drop them in the mail for proce$$ing. Send a message, clean the planet and put that rag out of business. Send thousands.
“Obama is Wrong” is all that people will remember. A fairly incredible cover for Newseak considering the guy has been in office for less than two months. Everybody, right or left, is turning on the guy. It would be a laugh if things were not so dire.
