2- the bomb wasn’t detonated at a high enough level to cause emp

AND

3 - today’s bombs are as much as 100 times the magnitude of the WWII ones.
4 - today’s chip circuits are 1,000s of times more susceptible then the vacuum tubes of the 1940s and 1950s.

Newt’s reference to a single high altitude detonated nuke has to refer to its EMP effect.

Shutting down all our computer based infrastructure systems and degrading our society back to the Nineteenth Century is the intent. For Pakistan and Iran, this is too easy.

Since today’s Muslims live in the Seventh Century as it is.

EMP is real, folks.
