I was curious and thought I'd check the "properties" of the images on the WH page... All with Obama in them have the word "hero" in name.

I did this because remember CNN or someone labelled a Bush image negatively in the past, and every now and agin think of checking in places for the name. VERY ODD that it is all the hompage images. I wonder if they’ve been doing this all along? I checked other pages at WH, and Obama images are not labelled this way.

I should be more exact. It was just the photos on the homepage, which is a slideshow. It is always about Obama. AT OTHER PLACES on website, other Obama pics are labelled normally (without “hero”) The HOMEPAGE though, are nice pics that I assume they hope the media/public will see and use. I would like to know what the names were yesterday or a month ago, but not sure how to check.

“Hero” is a term-of-art in photography referring to the best of a series of similar photos.

Not sure if this is a big deal...being on the fringes of the photography/advertising biz, the term “hero” is commonly used to name the “good” shot that you’re going to use in a project.
