WCCO Radio host Eleanor Mondale said her brain cancer has returned and she will take disability leave from the station.
The 49-year-old daughter of former Vice President Walter Mondale, put a message on the radio's website:
"I think the second most horrible words to hear after "You have brain cancer" are "The cancer is back".... but it's happened. Again. My fantastic Dr. at the Mayo Clinic - Dr. Joon Uhm - has prescribed a new treatment, and I am hoping, this time, that "third time is a charm."
Mondale was first diagnosed with brain cancer in 2004 and again last year. She returned to WCCO Radio last June.
How terrible. May God bless her.
This is really a bad thing to happen. Can’t wish it on anyone.
A terrivle thing to hear.
My thoughts and prayers go out to her and her family.
Prayers for her. Cancer of any kind is awful, but I think maybe brain cancer would be the worst. My brother in law suffered from it.
Not good at all.
This is very tough.
Very. I am sorry she has to go through this.
My prayers are with her for a full recovery.
Sad for her and her family.
Prayers for Ms. Mondale.
Prayers for Ms. Mondale and her family.
She used to be a real hottie back in the 80’s when her father ran for Prez . Gorgeous .
Since my mother passed away from a brain tumor, I have nothing but the utmost of sympathy for anyone with the same condition.
Prayers for Ms. Mondale.
I will pray for her.
Which was a real good genetic break for her, considering the butt ugliness of her father. But it looks like the genetic bag was mixed. She seems like a real nice woman. This is sad.
I think she is still cute. I love her short hair on her!
Prayers on the way...
Prayers sent, I wish her well.
No one deserves to die of brain cancer— Neighbor had it, and at the end, he was paralyzed.
Not my favorite neighbor, as he liked to get on his BIG BACKHOE in the middle of the night and move dirt around, but I didn’t wish this kind of end for him.
My sympathy to her and her family. Brain cancer is a terrible form of cancer, and right now medicine doesn’t have much to offer (although more than it used to.)
Prayers for Eleanor’s health.
