TX Governor's Race: Larry Kilgore (Secessionist) Runs!
Larry Kilgore for Governor 2010 ^ | 2008 | Larry Kilgore

Posted on 04/02/2009 7:02:07 AM PDT by erkyl

Texas Secession - Washington continues to ignore the 10th amendment. Until Texas independence, Washington's mandates on transportation, education, housing, health care and family issues will continue. Texas GOP Platform page 8 and 20:"We support state sovereignty reserved under the Tenth Amendment and oppose mandates beyond the scope of federal authority. We support downsizing of the federal government in order to re-establish states’ rights."

Economy - Washington requires Texans to pay for their corporate welfare bailout schemes. The debt is equal to $175,000 per person. For every dollar sent to Washington from Texans, we get back 94%; while New Mexico gets back 203%. Texas GOP Platform page 23:"Corporate Welfare/Business Subsidies – We oppose all corporate welfare that supports continued inefficient businesses. We encourage our government to allow a free market economy to prevail both domestically and internationally."

National Security, Immigration and Trade Agreements are inseparably linked - Washington refuses to protect Texas from illegal foreign invaders. Many Texans are upset about NAFTA, WTO, SPP and other international agreements that Washington has gotten us into. North American Union is coming unless we act. Texas GOP Platform page 23:"We strongly oppose and call on Federal and State officials to place high priority on the withdrawal of the United States from the Security and Prosperity Partnership and the formation of the North American Union."

Education - Washington & Austin usurps the authority of local school districts. While spending $75B to control local education. Texas GOP Platform page 8 and 16: "We call for abolition of the U. S. Department of Education and prohibition of transfer of any of its functions to any other agency. Abolish the School Property tax. District superintendents and their employees should be made solely accountable to their locally elected boards."

Health and Human Services - The $53B spending by this Texas government agency drives up health care cost for the rest of us. Texas GOP Platform page 8 and 15: "Reduce the indigent healthcare burden for counties and local government. Free market principles and competition shall be encouraged in health care."

Abortion - Washington usurped Texas sovereignty in the Roe v. Wade decision. Texas GOP Platform page 8: "Life begins at the moment of fertilization and ends at the point of natural death."

War on Poverty - Since 1965 the U.S. government has spent more than $11 trillion fighting poverty without success. Texas GOP Platform page 15: "Welfare Reform - The current system encourages dependency on government and robs individuals and generations of healthy motivation and self respect."

War on Drugs and Alcohol - Law Enforcement Against Prohibition: "The War on Drugs has cost taxpayers over a trillion dollars, we are approaching 40 million arrests for nonviolent drug offenses." County governments in Texas should determine the drug and alcohol policy not Washington. Texas GOP Platform page 8: "We understand most crime is local, and the states, reserve law enforcement authority under the Tenth Amendment."

Texas Military Forces - Texas Military Forces have be conscripted by Washington to fight undeclared wars. Texans need these volunteers in Texas to protect Texas.Texas GOP Platform page 8 and 15: "We charge the President to cancel the state of national emergency and charge Congress to repeal the War Powers Act and end our declared state of emergency. Never deploying the military except against invasion or threat to our vital interests."

Trans Texas Corridor - Rick Perry continues to support the TTC thus ignoring the people of Texas. Criticisms include the high cost, environmental damage and property confiscation. Texas GOP Platform page 23: "We emphatically oppose the Trans-Texas Corridor in any form or manner. We call for full investigation of any public officials authorizing any form of eminent domain for the Trans-Texas Corridor and foreign funding."

Does anyone know anything about him? He's from Amarillo.

Better a secessionist from Amarillo than an a**hole from El Paso.

What if Texas and any other states that have declared their sovreignty just sent money to DC only for what the constitution mandates the federal government is supposed to do - make money (Lord knows they surely know how to do that), guard the borders (the border states should subtract money for the federal government's failure to do that), and deliver the mail.

Now that would send a message to Washington!

I dunno...with the rampant spending spree in Washington in less than 3 months, imagine where this country will be for the 2010 race? I think people may be ready for some real CHANGE, and this guy might actually have a chance with the pendulum swinging back. Ron Paul is gaining in credibility because so much of what he said would happen is happening.

Let’s not write him off and go down the same old same old road without even seeing if a candidate like this could have legs.

Aren’t they supposed to provide for the military, too?

Are you sure he’s not from Corsicana? That’s where the Collin Street Bakery is located...

I would say that if Washington thought this was going to actually happen then I would think they would do something preemptive like sealing off the Texas capitol, not allowing anyone to enter and setting up a police state organization.

Martial law will be in effect, dusk to dawn curfews, road blocks and checkpoints and all stations TV and radio taken over by the Federal Government.

Protesters and dissenters will be facing the Army and will be detained immediately. And door to door searches will be made for weapons.

Question is Texas, do you have a defensive plan to counter this scenario? An alternate site for the governor? Can you prevent the Feds from coming into the state?

Is your militia ready?

He may be a libertarian but his quoting of the Texas GOP Platform which states that life begins at the moment of fertilization doesn’t sound libertarian. Possibly he’s just quoting that position to strengthen his state’s rights argument.

Being a Texan and having a very independent streak I do like a lot of what he says given the direction Washington is headed.

I believe he is one of the few libertarians who understands that pro-life is the only truly libertarian point of view. We are endowed by our creator with certain unalienable rights... from conception. The choice of abortion is no more liberetarian than the choice of raping ones neighbor. It is crucial to defeat of Leftism that the libertarians adopt this stance. Without it the schism of the Right is guaranteed between libertarians and social conservatives.

La Raza is just waiting.

For what? They want a race war in Texas? BAD IDEA. We've fought Mexicans before.

I’m donating money to this guy even though I live in Philly. I pray to God for a successful secession in my lifetime. The libtards been jubilant over every soldier’s death for years now. Not worth debating and not worth living with.
