If the Senate approves a budget proposal, the matter would then go before a House-Senate conference committee where differences between the two measures would be mediated.

Previous amendment allowed people to choose their own plan and doctor, effectively preventing the government mandating of the same. It was (I believe) approved.

I don’t think this is the actual budget. It’s just a frame of the actual budget that will be voted on later. Am I wrong?

Watching this is like waiting for a hurricane.
You know it is coming, yet all you can do is sit and wait for it.

Not to my knowledge.
The House version of the budget passed today by a margin of 233-196 in a virtual party-line vote. All but 20 House Democrats supported it; no House Republican voted in favor.

I thought it must be something like that: the AP has a long story about it without mentioning any specifics other than the vote ‘largely’ following party lines.

>> 6 more Amendments, then final passage vote.
The amendments are just “feelgood” nonsense, so the RINOs can say they were justified in voting for this monstrosity.
When the bill passes, every damn one of the amendments with any teeth in it will be tossed out in conference.
What do you want to bet?

Lead Amendment to allow thrift stores to sell children's clothing, library books remain, dealers sell ATV’s to children failed, Gregg voted against...
Coburn now up, his amendment is to allow health care providers to refuse to participate in abortions, etc...

They can, but they have to pay a lot of $ to have the clothes tested first, many have said cannot afford it.

All thrift shops are from donations, or most of them. I’m sure any donated to anyone falls into that.

but the thrift shops sell them, if someone is just giving clothes away, I do not think have to be tested, if you donate to a charity that gives clothes away(a church for example, not tested) but yes, the thrift store has to test.

This is a critically important amendment. If not passed, they will try to force Catholic hospitals to perform abortions.
The Catholic church says they will shut the hospitals down rather than perform abortions.
This is the largest provider of charitable medical services besides the Federal Govt and they will shut down rather to violate their moral stand...
Pray for our country. The good people of America are under assault by out of control politicians...

Blame the Democrats, not the Republicans. Why? The GOP acted like a bunch of Democrats when they were in power. Now they are out of power, their opposition don't mean nothing. The GOP blew their chance and their folly put the Commies firmly in charge.

Vitter amendment - agreed to but not read, so don't know what it is.
Final amendment before final passage....another Vitter amendment - drug testing for welfare recipients, if they test positive first time, treatment, 2nd time, denied funds, but their children would still get funding.
