"I AM a member of the Church that Christ established. Just like the individual, Christ will allow institutions, like the Catholic Church, to walk away from Him. "

But...that's not even possible. There are some Parishoners who will go astray, even some Priests, but the "Church"? Jesus founded the Church. It will be here until the end of time. It is not possible to "walk away".

Please, anyone in the vicinity come out and give a well-earned “welcome” to this excuse for a newsman. I’m surprised Obamama hasn’t already appointed him ambassador to France or something.

So you think it’s just Roman Catholics that are lost?

He Himself, with the apostles, founded the Catholic Church...

He founded His church as a whole, universal (small c catholic) church. Where's the word 'catholic' found in the bible?

Complete this time:

So you think it’s just Roman Catholics that are lost?

No, and I did not say or imply that.

[The Holy Spirit gave us the Bible, not any church. “All scripture is given by inspiration of God.”]

The Holy Spirit gave us the Church AND the Bible. What do think Acts Chapter 2 is about?

On the Day of Pentecost, a book didn’t fall from the sky. The Holy Spirit came, and started a Church. And the Church existed for hundreds of years before there WAS an official New Testament. And - through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit - the Church WROTE the New Testament, USED the New Testament, received it as inspired, and bound it into a single volume.

The Church is OLDER than the Bible.

How do you think those 27 separate books became CONSIDERED “The New Testament”?

Because the Church received them as inspired.

What came first, the chicken or the egg?

“All inspiration is given by God.”

Not popes.

I went to 16 years of Catholic school and NEVER studied the Bible. Institutions are flawed, the Word is not.

The “Church” is not the Catholic Church. It is the communion of saints. Not sure where the Bible talks about the Catholic Church, where I was a member for 35 years, being the Lord’s Church.

Roughly two full chapters of the Bible are read in every single mass, and the whole thing is read through yearly. Which is FAR more Bible reading than you get in your average evangelical church, where they typically read ONE VERSE, followed by a half an hour sermon.

And I also went to Catholic School, and “Religion” was anb actual class where we covered one of the Gospels ever semester. What Catholic School did you to that never had the Bible?

And once more: the Church is the only reason you HAVE a Bible.

The Bible doesn't talk about the Catholic Church, except for "on this rock you shall build my Church". Jesus chose Peter. Unbroken Apostolic succession every since. Jesus who is God founded the Catholic Church; the one true Church. This is the foundational reality. Hope you return soon.
