STRASBOURG, France — President Obama, appearing on the eve of a NATO summit meeting here, told a cheering crowd of young people on Friday that “America is changing, but it cannot be America alone that changes.”
The gathering resembled any of the countless, similar rallies held during his presidential campaign. But this one took place in the Alsatian border region of France and Germany, not in a gymnasium in Des Moines, and Mr. Obama seemed bent on repairing soured trans-Atlantic relations that began with the American-led invasion of Iraq in 2003.

0, might be right, but he will never see America becoming European. There will be more than blood on the streets and even the islamists will take a second look. Only a small percentage of Americans want this change.

Demoralization is an excellent tactic. Having the will to continue the fight in the face of such pressure is absolutely necessary.
Nevertheless, I, who can wax prosaic a lot here, just about can’t post after reading and thinking about that. It’s like hearing “Taps” or “The Navy Hymn.”

Fouad Ajami wrote an article about this during the campaign that Obama represented a throwback to the mob and street hysteria of Third World politics. Insane, deranged, cheering and shouting people jumping up and down.
