Obama to call for nuclear-free world

President Barack Obama will call for the elimination of all nuclear weapons across the globe, in remarks on Sunday he hopes will lend credibility to his message in atomic disputes with Iran and North Korea.

Visiting Prague during an eight-day visit to Europe, Obama plans to deliver what his aides have billed as a major speech on weapons proliferation.

Obama, who is making his debut on the world stage, said in Strasbourg, France on Friday that he would lay out an agenda to secure the world's loose nuclear materials and halt the spread of illicit weapons.

He added that he wanted to offer an agenda "to seek the goal of a world without nuclear weapons."

"Even with the Cold War over, the spread of nuclear weapons or the theft of nuclear material could lead to the extermination of any city on the planet," Obama said.

Fat lady is still warming up IMHO. Barack is her understudy. When the real McCoy shows up nobody will doubt it.

I hope this incompetent fool lives long enough to see the pain caused by his actions.

Actually I want him AND his followers to FEEL the pain

I doubt that even Obama’s soaring rhetoric has the power to change the laws of physics. Nuclear weapons exist, knowledge of their creation and operation cannot be erased from the human mind. Speculation on whether the world would be a better place if nature was other than the way it is is madness - but I guess ‘hope’ will do that to a person.

Navy Secretary-Desginate Mabus Can Expect Smooth Sailing, Despite Messy Divorce

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/44/2009/03/30/navy_secretary-desginate_mabus.html?wprss=44

Mabus

Century 2, Quatrain 62

Mabus plus tost alors mourra, viendra,
De gens & bestes vn horrible defaite:
Puis tout à coup la vengeance on verra,
Cent, main, faim quand courra la comete.

Mabus then will soon die, there will come
A horrible undoing of people and animals:
At once vengeance one will see vengeance,
One hundred hands, thirst, famine, when the comet will run.

Nostradamus’ Third Antichrist has yet to be positively identified. In contrast with his certainty about Napoleon and Hitler, Nostradamus is less clear who this third tyrant is. Perhaps this is an example of his prophetic myopia that enabled him to be clearest about events of local or European history. When contemplating future events in more distant lands, the prophet’s vision tends to be cloudier. What does come through clearly is the fact that this Third and final Antichrist is not a prominent European leader. He may even be a minor player in a future conflict, an insignificant terrorist such as Gavrilo Princip, the Serbian nationalist who assassinated Archduke Ferdinand of Austria in Sarajevo, triggering World War I.

The man we know as Mabus may be some obscure future terrorist who, if he is not identified and restrained in time, will trigger World War III and the extinction of civilization as we have known it.

Nuke free.
Gas free.
Freedom free.
Money free.
Energy free.
Security free.

How about we just cut to the chase and go to a human free world.

It’s not the Chinas and Indias and Russias we have reason to worry about. These are all rational people. North Korea even is a minor pest. Pyongyang would not want the world if it was offered on a silver platter.

No, our worry is the Islamonuts who feel it’s their destiny to take the world by force.

Obama hasn’t really thought this one out that closely.

Even supposing that it was possible to get China and Russia and the Islamos to all agree to this and actually do it(not very likely)- they have us terribly outnumbered. The nuclear arsenal is the equalizer.

He’s giving a speech more appropriate to a pope or an outgoing leader stepping away from the public scene.

Even with the Cold War over

Who says the Cold War is over? Russia's building nukes for Iran, sending rockets to Hamas and Hezbollah, supplying missiles to Syria, and putting warships in the Carribean for the first time since the (first) Cold War. Who says the Cold War is over???

For the last 47 years the Minuteman ICBMs have stood guard over this country. I believe as an old retired USAF Missleman that these nuclear devices and others like them won us the cold war. They are scheduled to remain active until 2040. I helped activate the first ones during the 1962 Cuban Missle crisis. We were President Kennedy's poker hand.

I don't think Obama plays poker.
