Well, these are pics from 2007-2009, so there would be, and could be no current Iowa Class broadside.

There are two left in reserve, but they are also museums. Not likely to be pulled out, but by law have to be ready to do so.

You try turning 95,000 tons of ship traveling over 30 knots on a dime. Still, its a good thing there were no jets aboard. (Or maybe there were and they fell off!)

If you take a look at the hi-res photo:

You will see an F-18 on the deck immediately next to the island. Probably testing the non-skid surface...but also tied down in case it starts sliding.

Hey, that's apples and oranges, FRiend, because concurrent with the cuts in the military will be an increase in the "People's Army" that Obama has promised to fund, which we are told will be composed of at least 50% disadvantaged youths. You know, the people who will be sent into our neighborhoods for all sorts of noble purposes, like the ACORN census.

So really, when you think about it, there will be no net loss in our forces; our country will be just as safe as ever. Not.

BTW, Re: The Dragon's Fury Series, I am your biggest fan. After reading it for the first time, years ago, I went out and bought my first rifle! Also, I still remember the service you rendered during the Klamath water fiasco. Thank you.
