I found my own answer as to what a "mass murder" consists of...
Criminal Justice Resources : Serial or Mass MurderThe USA Bureau of Justice Statistics defines a mass murder as "[involving] the murder of four or more victims at one location, within one event."I can't find anything within the US Bureau of Justice Statistics to substantiate this so a grain of salt is required.
