Who's bending down to give me a rainbow - 4 Years at Walter Reed!
DC Chapter | 6 Apr 2009 | BufordP

Posted on 04/06/2009 5:33:01 PM PDT by BufordP

Everyone knows it's Windy!

Boy, it was windy! Gusts up to 40 mph. It was our 4th Anniversary and we were going to unveil our new MOAB. Had we put up the MOAB Windy would have...

Tripped down the streets of the city

and destroyed it,

Smilin' at everybody she sees.

But it wouldn't have been funny. Not at all.

Windy even captured a moment ... and Cindy's sign ... and sent it sailing right into a little kid in a stroller.

Nope, the new MOAB unveiling will have to wait - weather permitting.

There's two parties in close proximity in Lafayette Park. festivities start around 11am and go until 3pm. I'll try to get out there around 11. I plan on making some signs.

Thanks for another swirling AAR. And format is neat.

[Mrs] T’s video sure captures the evening. It was so windy that we even had to hold the small blue junior MOAB.

As someone who has sent far to many Soldiers to Walter Reed as patients and who has been there to visit them far to many times, I’m deeply grateful for you all. I’m in awe at your dedication.

God Bless!!!

For those who have never been to the Friday night Freep at Walter Reed, its worth the time and effort to show your support for our Wounded Warriors. It will touch your heart and feed your soul to see who the people of this great nation have protecting our freedoms. God Bless EVERY ONE of them.

And it also worth the trip to meet the fine folks that are there every friday showing their support. BufordP, Mr & Mrs Trooprally, Albion Wilde, Kristinn and many others are worth the trip, I enjoy their fellowship each and every time I see them. They are part of my extended family and to all I say.

God Bless Y’all!!!

Wow, did you have to tie MrsTR to a pole to keep her from blowing away?

(hope she doesn't read this!)

Four years already? Amazing. You all have to be congratulated over and over for your dedication and support of our service members. I wish I could join you, but my health prevents it. I did do two years of voluntaring for the ARC at a military base to counsel and help troops and their families. It was work I enjoyed the very most of my entire life. I know the pleasure of the reward you must feel, and are certainly entitled to. I hope others can join you as you continue this important “mission.” God Bless you and our men and women in uniform.

You are welcome from the WR patriots.

Over the years our group has made friends with many of our wounded warriors. Several even started Americas Wounded Heroes to help out.

Excellent Post BufordP. You guys are awesome and faithful. Know what you are doing means alot to all of us, and gives our troops the recognition they deserve.

I was looking forward to seeing the new MOAB. But, like you said, it was windy. We’ll stay tuned for next week.

“Congrats on 4 years of hard work in all climates and temps. “

Isn’t that true - they are out there in wind, sleet, rain, snow, and thank God for those warmer temps.

I think Buford and the DC Chapter deserve that rainbow : )

I was wondering if you all would post some suggestions on how you have dealt with counter protesters. Our tea party in Asheville NC is in a hostile Lib environment. Could you guys add to the thread that is already posted about Libs infiltrating tea parties. That would be so helpful because I feel like you are all subject matter experts. Thanks.

I think in this particular instance (Tea parties) the best way to deal with them is to follow this strategy and follow these rules.

At other times, if I end up engaging in debate with someone who appears to be at least semi- reasonable, I usually listen to what they're saying and use their own words against them. Hypocrites always fall into their own contrary traps. Keep them on the defensive by asking them to back up their assertions. Don't let them change the subject.

Hope this helps.
