LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - California's Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, CEOs and celebrity doctors took up U.S. President Barack Obama's campaign for healthcare reform on Monday, saying millions of Americans need help.

Not in all jurisdictions. Some states only allow insurance companies to offer low deductable, high cost insurance. The young and the healthy are forced to buy if they want insurance..
Gee...how long do ya think the line they’ll be waiting in to see their doctor will be...
Yes, it is. We already have gone about 80% of the way there. SCHIP expansion in January was a 'downpayment' and Obama added another 'downpayment' in the budget.
The 4 horsemen of the liberal apocalypse:
1. HUge increases in Federal spending and massive deficits 2. Higher taxes 3. socialized heathcare 4. Regulation and control of CO2 via 'cap-and-trade'
“but I do doubt there are that many uninsured....”
Sure there are - you forget the 30 million illegal aliens who have absolutely NOTHING to fall back on, except taxpayer funded local health care clinics, using medicaid via anchor babies, states like Cali that are lax about letting illegal aliens into their programs, laws that require care given in emergency rooms, and private sector charity.
Let get real ... the hundred and hundred of billions, nay trillions, spend by all levels of Government to pay for healthcare is NOT ENOUGH .... it will NEVER BE ENOUGH ... so we might as well turn the entire country into a socialized hellhole now because its a greater crime to have a single American without free taxpayer subsidized healthcare than to take away the freedom for 300 million.
Some states only allow insurance companies to offer low deductable, high cost insurance. “
Ah, yes.
The Democrat plot to impose socialized healthcare requires the destruction of sane alternatives, and a key way to do that is to regulate the health insurance business to a point where it is IMPOSSIBLE to have lowcost health insurance.
The best GOP idea to respond to this was the idea to allow portable health insurance so that you could buy the health insurance from any state. That way, the Democrats/liberals cant imprison people into just the health insurance for that state.
“Tort Reform is whats needed for affordable health care.”
And deregulation of health insurance so young people can buy cheap high deductible insurance.
And a level playig field for people who buy outside of employer pool insurance.
How about we socialize Hollywood first. It would reduce vastly overpaid salaries and reduce ticket prices so more people could afford movies. Sure, to make their money the studios would have to reduce technology used (oooo, movies on Super-8 film) and try to cram more people in shoddy theaters, but at least it would be cheap.
Ditto that..
He is just the first, of many who will be crowding in for “a place at the table” (actually, a trough) on health care reform.
I kid you not, this is coming at the entire country like a freight train. DC is determined to pass it, very soon.
Sadly, the big insurers stand to make out best with this, as conceived now. Everyone else will lose, big time.
