WASHINGTON (AP) — Hispanics made up nearly half of the more than 1 million people who became U.S. citizens last year, according to a Hispanic advocacy group. The National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials said the number of Latinos who became Americans in fiscal year 2008 more than doubled over the previous year, to 461,317. That's nearly half of the record 1,046,539 new citizens overall in 2008, a 58 percent increase from 2007.

Tick, tick, tick....

In ten years Texas will be a Democratic state as will Florida.

The Electoral College math will then become extremely difficult for the GOP.

Proving once again that modern "immigration" is not in any way "diverse", but almost monotonically Mexican.

Simply because the nation next door is a disgusting disaster and has been for 500 years is no reason to hand over the United States to them.

Game, set, match.

Kaine: Dems will court all 50 states ‘now and forever’[DNC]

"Kaine sought to reach out to Hispanic voters in particular. He said, speaking in Spanish, that he learned important lessons while working as a young missionary in Honduras, and that the DNC would work to build strong relationships with the Hispanic community under his tenure."

"Almost 1 of 2 new Americans in 2008 was Latino"

Are these legal immigrants we're counting?

Might not the Latinos who actually went thru the naturalization process be a little more undertanding of the GOP philosophy?

I believe I saw a statistic that 40% of births in 2008 were out of wedlock,

ie, future criminals.

As I wrote in that thread:

If the GOP can not begin to make progress among Hispanics, Texas will become a Democratic State by 2020 if not sooner. That would be a game ender.

Good grief — its only 500,000 people nationwide. And, they earned their citizenship the right way — they waited in line, they took the tests. Their race is entirely irrelevant.

There is no reason the GOP cannot win the votes of individuals that love America enough to do the work required to become citizens.

That’s OK, we should take heart in reflecting on all the other latino-dominated countries worldwide that have become such huge successes. I mean, look at all of them, they’re, uh, everywhere.

Well, the other side of this is that as these legal immigrants assimilate...and they will...they will tend to vote less as a block.

Illegal immigration is an entirely different thing than legal immigrants becoming citizens.

Should we perhaps bring in more people from other countries than Mexico, Guatamala and Honduras? Yes. But I don’t see this as necessarily a great looming threat...if, and only if, we can get illegal immigration under control.

Really? You mean like LaRaza or MEChA or LULAC or the Hispanic Caucus? You mean irrelevant like that?

Do you mean countries like Mexico who is financing 35 Billion in U.S. government debt?

This RAPE of AMERICA from 3rd world criminals is unforgivable. It’s an invasion that’s been going on for decades killing America as completely as any WMD attack. TREASON is an impeachable offense and it is also a hangable offense.

Good point....their insistence on using race based terms....like La Raza (Spanish for “The Race”)...and other groups...are nothing more than the Hispanic Ku Klux Klan
