WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama went for the defining television shot in Iraq and got it — pictures of hundreds of U.S. troops cheering wildly as he told them it was time for the Iraqis to take charge of their own future. The war zone photo opportunity produced a stunning show of appreciation for Obama from military men and women who have made great sacrifices, many serving repeated tours in a highly unpopular war.

The absolute vial lies of the AP made me nearly vomit in my mouth when I read this article. The following sentence was actually written by a supposed journalist:

Obama's reception as the president who is ending the highly unpopular Iraq war could not have contrasted more starkly with the staid, set-piece visits by the conflict's author, former President George W. Bush.

President Bush was ALWAYS mobbed by active duty troops.

The “messiah” exploited the troops for his photo op! What a disgrace.

Yes, President Bush was always very warmly welcomed by us troops in Iraq and Afghanistan!!! Obama very carefully CHOOSE this photo op and, as usual, is STILL STUCK ON CAMPAIGNING!!!! There are no words for my disgust with Herr Comrade Fuhrer Obama.

And to the leftist trolls, before you start with the “chicken hawk” BS, I am IN Afghanistan getting my forth combat patch you leftist filthy, cowardly traitors!!!

No mention of the fact President Bush was ALREADY withdrawing troops from Iraq for the past year and that Obama CUT troop surge in Afghanistan by almost half WHILE secretly talking terrorists behind our backs!!!!

How nice...

President Bush and the troops do all the heavy lifting and then Obama comes along rides the victory...

Had Obama had his way Iraq would have been a colossal failure but never mind that...

Go around the MSM.

And *continuously* speak loudly to their bias.

There’s a reason newspapers are folding (no pun intended).

The very same reason, Fox News Channel - despite being pretty much the electronic equivalent of a tabloid channel - is knocking the stuffing out of the leftwing networks.

People really do see the bias, and they’re not buying it.

Obama isn’t magic. The media is not omnipotent.

2008 happened because the GOP started out the campaign with a circular firing squad, and ended up with history’s worst candidate ever.

That won’t be the case next time.

Don’t lose the faith. Keep fighting.

In fact, fight harder. :)

Keep yelling at Republicans.

If we yell at them louder than liberals do - they’ll get their act together.

Now get out there and yell. Start with David Horowitz.

The best way to defy Obama in your situation is to be very cordial and stoic, with muted applause, no cheering. Give the office of POTUS the respect it is entitled without praising the man in the position. That is the best way to protest (And IMHO probably drives him nuts :).

Look at this video:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/30089760#30089760

I defy ANYONE to truthfully classify this as “cheering wildly”. This is crap. Notice how there seems to be an overwhelming preponderance of women and minorities in this as well.

Unbelievable.

You want to see “wild cheering”? Look at the post by Freeper exist at post #8. THAT is enthusiastic cheering.

This is disgusting. I refuse...REFUSE to believe that they could even get this lukewarm crowd with cherry picked personnel.

That won’t be the case next time.

Next time the Democrats will already have their candidate and the Democrat primaries will be meaningless. Next time the Democrats will flood into the open Republican primaries, change their registrations to Republican and vote in the closed Republican primaries, and as happened in the late season, will choose the Republican candidate they prefer.

The MSM was in full-swing constrasting the wild cheering for "superstar quality" Barry against the solemn, quiet response for Bush last year.

They even mentioned the Iraqi reporter shoe throwing incident as evidence Barry was more well-recieved than GW.

The oddest thing. When I played the video — with the grim-faced troops watching 0 — the sound was so muddy that I couldn’t understand a word of it. It was great! Made it possible to sit through the whole thing. He just said, “Wraagh wah ah waaaguff ougggh” over and over. ;-D

The camera kept searching for smiles, but I only saw one or two.

Yes, but I doubt I will see him here. Iraq was were he made his “campaign stop”. In Afghanistan, he cut the surge in half quietly, but loudly (mis)stated that HE was the one who approved more troops for Afghanistan. I think that marks only the 2nd time he has been to Iraq also.

When Kerry came to Iraq in late 2006, the Military walked out of the gym when he entered to work out. When Murtha and Pelosi came in early 2007, they would not even deign to notice the Military and the USMC guards were told to stay away (Blackwater, ironically, guarded the congresspeople).

There are ways to respectfully go against him. But those are very few and I do not speak for the US Military in my statements. The same people in government (especially DOD civilians) who openly and viciously mocked President Bush now file “racism” charges against people who so much as question the wild assertions Obama makes. We have a chaplain at another base here who has pictures of Obama all over his office, yet no depictions of Jesus. In my opinion, the depictions he has of Obama are... very similar to a pre-1950s German style. The idolatry and cult like worship would be amusing if not for the cult like witch hunts carried out by the Obamaniacs.

That is the new reality we live in: Dissent is not patriotic anymore. Only blind obedience to Obama and paying taxes.

So your saying this nation which kills unborn babies sometimes even up to the ninth month, homosexual marriage which up until 10 years ago would have been unheard of, and allowing a person with the moral values of an alley cat be elected President of the United States is just going to be winked at by our God and Saviour without any consequences.

God judges nations for their collective sins. Sure there are righteous people in this country but on a whole do you regard this as a righteous country? I don't.

God will take care of his own, but as a country we have be going against God and His Word since the 1960’s. How would you expect him to protect and bless this country under these circumstances.

If you will remember God had to punish Israel numerous times for their collective sins even though there were righteous people there at that time, and if he allowed the United States to continue in the direction it is going then he would have to back an apologize to Israel.

OK, I will give you that Israel was Gods chosen people and under a special covenant.

But the fact remains this country is not the same country of even 50 years ago. God can not turn a blind eye to what’s going on in this country. The United States has been the most blessed nation in the history of mankind, and those blessing came from the only One that can bestow those blessings. This nation as a whole has turned it back on God and whether you can admit or not, God can with hold his blessing and protection from us.

God can with hold his blessing and protection from us.

God promised us only eternal life through his Son, Jesus Christ. He never said that our life prior to His return would be easy. God can choose to bless, or not to bless, any person, people or nation as He sees fit. I'm sorry you are afraid that the gays and abortionists are going to put an end to some kind of cosmic gravy train, but "blessing for America" wasn't in any promise I ever found in the Bible.

Keep the faith and thank God for the blessing you have. Whether you maintain those blessings is up to you, not other people.
