They said one of the main problems right now is the language barrier...and they showed all (?) of the ambulances pulling away. One person air-lifted.

From scanning all the articles (and remember breaking news can change): It looks likes there was 3 victims and the shooter. The shooter may be a 70 year old man and he may be injured.

Two of the victims are critical.

It’s a Korean group at a “Christian” retreat.

We’ll see.

Very shocking news.

I have posted two articles today, and both are about mass shootings - one by a French soldier in Chad, and one in a German courtroom. Now this!

The shooter may be a 70 year old man and he may be injured.

It's cold, wet and rainy here in the Temecula area tonight, supposed to be in the low 40's...if he's out there in the brush (the Woodchuck campgroud area is basically wilderness scrub brush) without any protective gear or shelter he might not last the night.

They have not stopped yet, have they?, and I predicted another one to happen, with at least five people killed, "in the next few days".

I said that on FR a few days ago. I am an observer of American culture from a very circumspect, independent, distant position..

Oakland, Binghamton, Pittsburgh, Greenhill Alabama and now this.
The people are not being listened to, no sign of that changing soon.
People are angry and confused AND ammo'd up.
Speaking for me, I think this is why you'll see more.

Agreed. Everything I've read so far says that law enforcement thinks that one of the people sent to the hospital is the shooter, but I haven't found any information that definitely confirms that.

I think it is a loss of Hope. So many deluded people were thinking that with this new president that there would be a change for the better. (Of course we see a change for the worse). But many, don’t see any change. The folks that thought “Obama will pay my mortgage” are still getting foreclosed on, etc.

And, I think society has just gotten more evil. Back in the Great Depression they didn’t have these mass murders going on. Cool bank robbers instead.

SNIPPET: “The retreat is one of four U.S. branches of the Kkottongnae Brothers and Sisters of Jesus, a Catholic organization dedicated to serving the poor and homeless. It was founded in the city of Cheongju, South Korea, by Father Oh Woong Jin in 1976.

A woman who answered the phone at the group’s Lynwood branch on Tuesday night said she did not speak English well and declined to discuss the shooting.

Kkottongnae means “flower village,” according to the organization’s Web site. “

The gunman was believed to be among the injured at the Kkottongnae Retreat Camp, and investigators were unsure what prompted the attack

The gunman appeared to have lost control of himself when a camp counselor asked him to spell the name of the camp.

My theory is that failing economy and huge layoffs push marginally sane, unstable and insecure people beyond what their minds can take. Since the economy continues to deteriorate (sales keep dropping, future orders are abysmal, etc.) the pressure on employees is increasing. One of the recent maniacs was laid off by IBM, for example.

It would be indeed unfortunate if these incidents are used as a basis for making gun ownership harder or impossible. Maniacs will switch to arson, knives, bats, cars - many things are deadly around us. If the society starts crumbling the last thing you want to get rid of is your guns. I was at the local store today, ammo shelves are empty, just like in Soviet Union - you buy not what you want but what you are lucky to find.

My son has knowledge of guns - and I asked him if he had any extra shotguns.

He told me to buy one legally - because if an intruder entered my home and tried to assult me, and I pulled the trigger, (with a registered gun), he said I would have no problem.

But, if the gun were NOT registered to me, (and I shot an intruder), I could run into all sorts of legal problems.

My fear is that there will be a knock on my door to “retrieve” what is registered. The Constitution seems to be shattering..........

But all the other half-dozen articles..... It is sad that so many folks had hope, but now see it was a False Hope that got elected.

"Is it my imagination or do a lot of these shooting sprees lately involve people for whom English is not their first language?"

You mean, those that are not natural born citizens?
Maybe these killings will stop when barak comes clean...or it's a foreshadowing...

Right now I wonder if the coming full moon is having an effect. People are stressed out, the hope expected turned out to be a nightmare, so many those who are short fused are more apt to snap right now.
