Moving this to breaking news.
Pull if you see fit.
Yep....just saw this on the news...
I cannot stay up to follow it. Appointment in the a.m.
Good night and prayers the reports are incorrect.

SNIPPET: “Gutierrez said at least two of the victims were critically injured.”
Good night Jet Jaguar.
Nite, JJ....sleep well...
They said one of the main problems right now is the language barrier...and they showed all (?) of the ambulances pulling away. One person air-lifted.
From scanning all the articles (and remember breaking news can change): It looks likes there was 3 victims and the shooter. The shooter may be a 70 year old man and he may be injured.
Two of the victims are critical.
It’s a Korean group at a “Christian” retreat.
...and 1 dead person.
Very shocking news.
I have posted two articles today, and both are about mass shootings - one by a French soldier in Chad, and one in a German courtroom. Now this!
“One dead, three wounded in Temecula-area shooting”

By TAMMY J. McCOY
SNIPPET: “Law enforcement officers were interviewing witnesses victims were being treated at a triage center.”
Korean Baptists maybe? not uncommon in the US
“Korean Baptist maybe?”
There’s a bunch of ‘em in Houston.
It's cold, wet and rainy here in the Temecula area tonight, supposed to be in the low 40's...if he's out there in the brush (the Woodchuck campgroud area is basically wilderness scrub brush) without any protective gear or shelter he might not last the night.
The shooter is in the hospital now.
Thanks for the update. Where did you get that information?
...lots of Korean Presbyterians in So. Cal.
I was reading one of the articles that said it.
I scan a whole bunch at a time.
I smell a gun-grab comin’,,,JMHO...
I said that on FR a few days ago. I am an observer of American culture from a very circumspect, independent, distant position..
I should say, there is a language barrier and breaking news is always subject to change.
You aren't the ONLY one, I am sure. It's just around the corner, now, I fear.
“One person killed, three wounded in campground shooting”
Special to the Valley News
Wednesday, April 8th, 2009.
Issue 15, Volume 9.
SNIPPET: “Gutierrez told KCAL9 that deputies were continuing to search through the campground to ensure there were no more victims. The retreat participants were people ages 40 and older, Gutierrez said.”
Agreed. Everything I've read so far says that law enforcement thinks that one of the people sent to the hospital is the shooter, but I haven't found any information that definitely confirms that.
I think it is a loss of Hope. So many deluded people were thinking that with this new president that there would be a change for the better. (Of course we see a change for the worse). But many, don’t see any change. The folks that thought “Obama will pay my mortgage” are still getting foreclosed on, etc.
And, I think society has just gotten more evil. Back in the Great Depression they didn’t have these mass murders going on. Cool bank robbers instead.
ON THE INTERNET:
“Shooting death at religious retreat”
SNIPPET: “He said at least two of the victims were critically injured.
Mario Lopez, of the California Highway Patrol, said officers went to the retreat after hearing that a man had shot his wife.
He said one person was dead when they arrived.”
Is it my imagination or do a lot of these shooting sprees lately involve people for whom English is not their first language?

SNIPPET: “The retreat is one of four U.S. branches of the Kkottongnae Brothers and Sisters of Jesus, a Catholic organization dedicated to serving the poor and homeless. It was founded in the city of Cheongju, South Korea, by Father Oh Woong Jin in 1976.
A woman who answered the phone at the group’s Lynwood branch on Tuesday night said she did not speak English well and declined to discuss the shooting.
Kkottongnae means “flower village,” according to the organization’s Web site. “
The gunman appeared to have lost control of himself when a camp counselor asked him to spell the name of the camp.
It would be indeed unfortunate if these incidents are used as a basis for making gun ownership harder or impossible. Maniacs will switch to arson, knives, bats, cars - many things are deadly around us. If the society starts crumbling the last thing you want to get rid of is your guns. I was at the local store today, ammo shelves are empty, just like in Soviet Union - you buy not what you want but what you are lucky to find.
7 shot in this one,,,
It’s back up on the Dead Pelican.com ,,,
4 ? killed in Shreveport about the same time,,,
Maybe it’s just me ...
Hi,Cindy,,,TANKS for the links,,,(saved)...
My son has knowledge of guns - and I asked him if he had any extra shotguns.
He told me to buy one legally - because if an intruder entered my home and tried to assult me, and I pulled the trigger, (with a registered gun), he said I would have no problem.
But, if the gun were NOT registered to me, (and I shot an intruder), I could run into all sorts of legal problems.
My fear is that there will be a knock on my door to “retrieve” what is registered. The Constitution seems to be shattering..........
You’re welcome 1Counter-Morter-68.
I think its just you. At least with regards to the first article. “A dispute between two ‘groups’.” One group dressed in a lot of red, the other “group” in black.
But all the other half-dozen articles..... It is sad that so many folks had hope, but now see it was a False Hope that got elected.
If it was me I would buy one from a private party,,,
Mite wanna check the laws in your state/city,,,
Pay cash only for anything you buy,,,
Anything bought before ‘68 will have no fed records...
You mean, those that are not natural born citizens?
Maybe these killings will stop when barak comes clean...or it's a foreshadowing...
Right now I wonder if the coming full moon is having an effect. People are stressed out, the hope expected turned out to be a nightmare, so many those who are short fused are more apt to snap right now.
Had to be a gun free zone.
Well,,,When I saw this thread I remembered what I read
earlier on the DP,,,one link was gone,,,(Shreveport),,,
I guess my point is that it seems to be a dawg-pile goin’ on
because the NOLA shooting was over a month ago,,,
Why throw it back in the news now ?
Are you anywhere in the vicinity of the good Sheriff Arpaio?
Give him a ring and ask what’s best to do.
Apparently every single shooting in the country is now ‘national news’...
someone is in need of some restraint.
