This despicable video needs to be seen by as many people as possible.
The basic gist of it is...
"Dean Smith, I'm having a problem with one of my students.
See... he's a war criminal, oh I mean veteran & he is not unquestionably swallowing our leftist propaganda hook, line & sinker. He's very confrontational & disruptive... he challenges my assertions in front of the other students, asks that I provide objective data to back up my claims, and he actually has the nerve to espouse ideas that run contrary to our ideology.
I'm at my wits end & don't know what to do Dean Smith. Has Obama (all praise be unto him) announced when the reeducations camps will be opened, because my list of candidates is just getting longer with each passing semester?"
Speechless. Heavy-handed commie propaganda.
I have a man in my class he makes me nervous....
I am ashamed of Penn State. My Grandfather went on the GI Bill after WWII. He was treated much better than this. This is reprehensible. Where is the student veteran’s organization and campus Republicans in condemning this? Or has the university told them any opposition to this would be considered hate speech?
We had a veteran’s club off campus to unwind. Had snacks and coffee but you had to bring your own beer.
I was 38 years old when I started college, needless to say I had many interesting discussions with liberal instructors. What really upset them was that I could sway the kids in the classes to my side most of the time, I had the time of my life, LOL.
Yeah, those darn veterans. They are stupid, can’t write, have bad grammar, don’t respect authority, can’t carry on a civil conversation. And, they seem as if they are about to pull out a weapon and shoot up the campus.
Am I wrong, or is that “teacher” 18-years-old? What a doofus. This video must be a drama department project. If they played this at a faculty meeting, even the liberals would laugh at it. Well, some of them.
Uh, BTW, doesn’t Penn have admissions testing to see if students can read or write properly?
These elites live in their leftist enclaves and if you dare question them, you have to be watched.
I think I'll forward this to FOX & FRIENDS....they've been running a segment with liberal bias in history books, complete BS.....they don't have a problem showing how the liberal agenda is corrupting history.
If you have the time, do the same, the more the merrier.
Just to clarify...
Penn != Penn State
Penn = Univ of Pennsylvania
But NYT best-sellers have gotten that wrong, too, so don’t feel bad. :-)
In any case, Penn State is known by alumni as a very conservative campus. If only those alumni realized what is going on there now, I think many of the funds that get sent there would dry up. It has become a terribly liberal hell-hole that tries to keep up a totally different image for alumni. It’s sickening.
Video: Psychotically angry military veterans and the academics who must tolerate them
Penn State training video violates Iraq vets dignity, school policy
Take a look.
It is not until the end of the video that it becomes clear: this is a liberal’s perspective of a student-teacher conflict that comes from different perspectives on the war.
I wasn't sure about it until I saw the end.
This is reprehensible!
Paging the right hand: Get a load of what the left's been up to...
With the daily outrages from Obama continuing their unabated assault on my peace of mind, your scenario made laugh out loud.
Thanks, I needed that.

Imagine the MSM uproar if Penn State produced a training film called “How to Deal with Worrisome Homosexuals”.
If they took the word “veteran” out of the video, it would be very realistic. We get one or two threatening nut cases every year. They are seldom veterans. Most often, they are male children of rich parents. They are functionally illiterate and don’t feel a need to show up on time, or at all. I don’t know how they got through high school without the ability to write a complete sentence or perform basic arithmetic.
I regularly get the “but I worked very hard on this and I need a B” line out of students with God awful papers that don’t address the assignment.
“Why is class attendance required? I’m paying your salary.”
“I didn’t feel well. Can I turn this in next week?”
“Is this on the test?”
“I’ll hire an accountant to do this. Why should I learn all of this numbers stuff?”
It is quite common for students to show up in the Dean’s office with a parent and an attorney when they don’t get the grade they want. If they spent ten percent as much time on the assignment as they did on complaining and expecting a B for doing nothing, they would get better grades.
And... Don’t get me started on cheating. That seems to be a given with the majority of students.
Thank God for the ten percent of students who actually learn the material and use it.
I’m not sure what to make of this.
First, there are certainly problem situations where students think they deserve better grades than they get. That’s actually a very common problem. If the kid has been taught through the years that he can do no wrong (modern parenting at work) then he’s going to blame someone or something for his shortcomings (rather than himself). It’s quite common for students to blame their job situations, personal lives, and teachers.
On the other hand, it’s quite possible that teachers do in fact take out liberal biases on their conservative students. This has happened to me and I imagine it’s happened to many people. (It makes news when one of them calls a radio show, for example.) The fact that in this example the student was a veteran is not necessarily relevant, as he doesn’t talk about politics or the war much other than to present the conflict between his views and the teachers. Make no mistake, that alone would get a student a lower grade.
All in all, it’s really the unnecessary portrayal of the student as a veteran that injects politics into it. Maybe they were trying to make it “modern” or whatever but it comes off as being in bad taste.
I have had a similar problem with a prof.
The essay topic was the use of nuclear weapons in WWII. Only students who condemned the bombings got good grades, the ones like me who felt the bombings were acceptable had grammar and composition problems that lowered our grades.
When I mentioned this I was accused of being confrontational (I was, after all, confronting the prof!) and irrational. I got backup from the other irrational crazies in the class, which de-escalated the prof’s attack on me.
There are hints of that in the vid though nothing I can put my finger on.
The “psycho vet” is one of the oldest Hollywood and fiction literature foils there is. Another is the “hooker with a heart of gold.”
Time to boot the left-wing elitists off the the university campuses.
This veteran should turn that professor into their local District Attorney (and then the Attorney General).... Get a lawyer!!
I’m speechless about the video and the way they depict the veteran.
My kid isn’t a vet and has given up on playing the walk-on-egg-shells game with some very liberal profs at his school. He’s gone from all A-B to C’s in some classes and just doesn’t give a damn about it anymore. The decline in grade is purely retaliatory for not regurgitating the ideological kool-aid.
“Why is class attendance required?”
I’d like to know that too. If I complete the assigned work and pass the tests why should I be forced to attended a set number of class days under penalty of grade reduction?
Ewe beter shut the heck up or eyem gonna find ewe an take care ov bizness!
Whats does the UNC BB coach have to do with Penn State...? :)
Well, more Hope and Change personified. Demonize the military; characterize them as dangerous and unstable in order to blacken their image. Screw off, PSU. I once thought better of you, but no more.
“The video about how to deal with inner city students must be really short. Gangsta shows up with his posse and declares I says I gets an A. The professor meekly says OK.
Let’s see. Gangstas DON’T go to Penn State. End of scenario.
I'm sure the University is working hard on this problem this video caused and will make sure the person who leaked it is severely punished.
“Imagine the MSM uproar if Penn State produced a training film called How to Deal with Worrisome Homosexuals.
or...
How to Deal with Worrisome Muslims.
“Students wondering if they should hold to their principles or just give the liberal prof what he wants to hear.”
Grammar problems — and believe me, plenty of college students have them — are not a matter of liberal or conservative. Grammar is grammar.
The student in this video, no matter who he is, appears to think he deserves a B just because he says he worked hard and he’s there. This is what professors see all the time. Why aren’t Freepers outraged by his entitlement attitude?
I read that — I am rapdily coming to the conclusion that the Loyola (Chicago) instructor writing that, along with anyone else that disconnected from reality, needs to be put down like a dog that has gone mad from rabies. A lunatic such as the instructor at the other side of that link, is a danger to the community, in an order of magnitude greater than a rabid dog.
I won’t even comment about the Iraqi or Moslem students sitting in a classroom at private university that charges tuition in amounts 95% of academically qualified US citizens aged 18 could not afford...
The ideological split in this country has become irreconcilable.
We need a good, hardline split where their policies don’t affect us, and where they can do their own thing and live in their resulting utopia.
Wait... that’s the way the founders set things up in the first place!
“If I complete the assigned work and pass the tests why should I be forced to attended a set number of class days under penalty of grade reduction?”
Um... Because we discuss things that aren’t on the test? The assigned work is designed to augment the class discussions and activities. It is not the complete course.
Today, my Business Policy class will discuss the expansion of a 26 acre business site. The students who show up, will hear and discuss at least 15 different possibilities, including finances, marketing, ethical and legal issues. Those that don’t show up, will turn in a paper with one solution. They may do well on the paper, but they will not have learned as much as those in attendance.
Bump for later. Must see this (stupid firewalls!).
I find this hard to believe. My husband teaches in a small PA college. The faculty is very liberal and do not approve of the war. But they respect war vets and thank them for their service. At least the ones in my husband’s dept. In fact, one of the most liberal profs came into my husband’s office with a returning war vet in tow several years ago and told him in front of her to treat her well because she deserved it. I don’t understand why so many hate-filled people teach.
I wouldn’t agree with putting them down. Too many of their ilk feel the same of conservatives, but, as the saying goes, “Liberalism is a mental disorder.”
I’m a ‘65 Penn State grad. In the four years I was there the school was an apolitical academic institution. Of course the country was right in the middle of Viet Nam and by the 1970s the slogan “Better Red than Dead” played well on most college campuses. Penn State was no different.
I was an ROTC student and married my wife (also Penn State) at Eisenhower Chapel. By August of ‘65 I was on Active Duty. Subsequently spent two years in Germany and 2 years in Thailand. No matter where we were overseas it was always easy to pick out Penn Staters. They were always clean, clean shaven and had easy smiles. In short they were well adjusted and well educated.
Fast forward to mid 70’s. Visits to Penn State demonstrated students took pride in their pseudo working class clothes (holes in jeans’ knees and butts and already faded by the manufacturer) and their general lack of civility.
I was a journalism major. Visited College of Journalism in 1976—I think it was anyway. Spoke with the then dean of the school. I forget his name. He asked what I did after graduation. I told him I spent almost five years in the Army. In his British accented voice he said “F*** You” and turned his back on me.
I’ve not given any money to the school in years. Although I feel really bad about it, I won’t even give money to the fencing team anymore. I was a Penn State fencer.
Yep, the school is nothing more than a socialist education center. Perhaps on the engineering side it is not so apparent. I would expect that the school’s science departments have been politicized to the maximum extent.
You needed to post a link to the REST of this training film, where other “instructors” continue the discussion of how to deal with “problem veterans”.

Disgusting.
I'm sure they do, particularly since the SAT now has a writing component.
That said, if you want to penalize a student for his political leanings, the covert method is to be extra-picky on things that you can legitimately down-grade him for. Meanwhile, I doubt that a Penn professor would be picky about the grammar of an affirmative-action student, as such would be bad for her career.
Unless they play football or basketball well.
Also, keep in mind that Penn State has satellite campuses all over PA that function much like community colleges.
They are beyond any capacity for rational thinking and any measure taken to reduce their damage as a fifth column in this nation will only feed into their pathology.
Eventually, we are going to have hit the reset button in this nation or these people will continue driving us toward their ultimate goal; turning the USA into just another dirt poor province of a UN led socialist eutopia. I do not want my grandchildren to grow up in the same system that Cuba and North Korea currently suffer under, but the people that produce vidoes such as this have our adoption of those systems as their shining prize at the end of the road.
What is your solution for the fifth column?
“Lets see. Gangstas DONT go to Penn State. End of scenario.”
You sure gave that straw man a good thrashing.
Now how would you know if Black gang members attend Penn State or not? Do they have some type of policy in place?
I think you just didn’t like the truth behind his comment, but couldn’t think of a logical way to dispute it.
I was always annoyed with professors who took attendance. I always thought the better option was to give pop quizzes regularly.
