Just as in MANY American cities anything that propels any type of projectile is forbidden.This literally means everything from blowing a dry pea out of a straw ,toy dart guns,up through toy archery to real .357sALL it takes is some activist/control freak to have an ordinance passed,and somebody to call in a complaint to the police at the sight of a "weapon".

I’m sure the ACLU will be contacting the ship’s company with reagrds to a wrongful death law suit. Certainly these pirates were poor impoverished souls who grew up without a strong father figure and were forced to resort to piracy as a means to cope with the miserable life they endured. If only the US had built schools in Somalia...

I'm not kidding. The guy was contrasting the shore based Somali Islamo nuts that are taking on actual military targets and these "fisherman" that seek weaker targets that hold more value.
