Best thing about this is that DU'ers are hopping mad.

I've seen 2 threads on this over there and some are saying they're sorry they voted for the shyster. One person says he's sick of the laudatory MSM coverage of the man and wants to see actions not words. LOL.

The difference being that the Bush team was spying on terrorists who want to attack and kill us, many of whom are living in our country, and the BO team is spying on its political opponents and others who are resisting his efforts to turn this into a marxist/socialist country.

Obama seems to be going further than Bush in exempting companies like AT&T from lawsuits over wiretapping.

In fact, Turley says the administration is saying they will be blocking ALL lawsuits .

The DU'ers seem to be shocked today to discover that Obama is a liar.

Of course Obama is worse. After all he’s a totalitarian Commie and Bush is an honest man.

I don't often go over there.

But to see how they're reacting to one of their main Bush "atrocities" being now co-opted by their Dear Leader... it's kinda fun.

At least Bush was wiretapping known terrorists. I wonder who Nobama is wiretapping.

Right.

Our liberal friends were fooled into thinking that Bush was over-stepping his authority; actually it is their own party which has the totalitarian Big Brother mentality.

Well, they are finding out today that their guy is a liar. The whole time the Dems were slamming Bush they were really just greedy to get his power...so they could expand it.

Zero is busily making friends with our REAL enemies.

Honestly, even the Taliban thinks Hiltery is a “lunatic” in looking for a “moderate” terrorist. We are a luaghing stock of the world.

The “community organizer” is now turning over our power and sovernighty to the U.N.. What a sorry piece of crap and a coward.

Is it really wiretapping or data mining? If it’s data mining, that puts it in the same league as IRS auditing of tax returns, which liberals never complain about.

The worst thing is that conservatives, who defended civil liberties when Clinton was president, apparently couldn't care less. When will conservatives stand up against the national security state? With the notable exception of Ron Paul, apparently never.

As far as I know it's wiretapping.

The only time they ever screamed about audits is when Nixon was involved.

"Jonathon Turley is a professional douche bag. IMHO".

Turley is the rare liberal with intellectual honesty. Check out his record going back to the Clinton impeachment. We should treasure these people because: (1) it's possible to hold a civilized conversation with them; and (2) they are potentially "conservative" on important issues.

Turley may or may not have been more even handed back in the impeachment days. I really can't remember nor do I care. His record the last several years and especially in his scathing, and I believe unfounded, criticism against Bush.

Libs, especially like Turley, refuse to acknowledge that we are in a war against Islamic jihadist. Libs see this as a matter for civilian police forces. To them, I say "BS". It is a war and like other wars, we have not only a right but an obligation to gather signals intelligence from the enemy.

In Turley's world, we could only gather that intelligence if we knew when the enemy was specifically going to communicate, which channel or frequency they'd be using and how long they would be communicating for, just so we could apply for the proper search warrant. In this war, like in any other war, is impossible to predict.

"Just change ‘wiretapping’ to some cutesy name and all will be right in the world!" How about "Concerned Listening"? I mean they could find out if someone is using to much electricity or not using CFC bulbs, etc... Liberals woudl love it to be used to bring Global Warming Deniers to justice!
