A Lesson from our Friends the Israelis
The American Thinker ^ | April 09, 2009 | Lauri B. Regan

Posted on 04/09/2009 2:33:29 AM PDT by Scanian

While driving through the West Bank on my family's recent trip to Israel, our tour guide shared an interesting story that helps explain the core issue in the struggle for peace in the Middle East -- and in the rest of the world.

Our Israeli tour guide was asked to speak at a conference in the United States several years ago at which he shared the floor with a Palestinian panelist. Before walking off the stage in the middle of the discussions, the Palestinian gentleman politely interrupted him and stated the following:

"Dear People, regardless of what you think, the world is divided in two......those who are Muslims and those who are not YET Muslims."

The statement did not surprise our guide for Israelis are fully aware of what drives the enemy in their midst. The rest of the world, however, should listen carefully. For, it is not just Israel that is facing this ideology. The war against infidels only begins with Israel.

While I have written that Israelis are survivors, enduring terrorist attacks on a regular basis, other non-Muslims, Americans, and in particular, American Jews, live day to day in a sheltered bubble oblivious to the imminent threat of violence and destruction that may one day be visited upon them. (This willful ignorance could not have been more evident upon my return home to the news that the Obama administration would no longer use the term "war on terror" due to the fear that such a term would offend Muslims.)

“Those chilling words...Not Yet Muslims”

TOTUS has a tingle in its circuits.

The sooner people understand that statement, the sooner we can get over this “get along with moderate” garbage that I’m frankly sick of hearing.

I trust none of them, call me a racist, a bigot whatever.

I’ve adopted the sticks and stones mantra.

From your linked thread on TOS, I liked the suggestion that TOTUS (I like that one, too) hadn't actually bowed to King Abdullah, he simply dropped a nickel.

To which the other guy replied, nah, Abdullah dropped a Benjamin.

Rejoinder: Yeah, and TOTUS caught it before it hit the floor.

lol

Good story, too, about "Toes" (Rahm Emanuel) sending "JCube" (Jesse Jackson Jr.) a 20-lb salmon wrapped in a Chicago Sun-Times, for reportedly "cooperating" in the investigation into Gov. Rod's interrupted sale of Big Guy's Senate seat to a credible bidder.

To which another poster offered,
"I certainly hope that dead salmon that Toes sent to JCube was farm raised, I'd hate to see him depleting the already endangered wild salmon runs to send some sort of Omerta/Mob like message....and besides, wouldn't a vegetarian alternative like sustainably harvested soy made into a Tofurky Loaf wrapped in the local paper be just as effective a threat??"

lol

Chicagah politics ..... no wonder people keep voting for these guys, they've discovered what Louisiana voters always knew, that political wheels are the best entertainment around. (Okay, a little expensive, but all the same .....)

Besides, it wouldn't exactly ruin my day if they fell on each other, and somehow Jesse Jackson Jr. wound up under the bus w/ Rev. Wright and Grandma.

We need to do a lot more than offend them... use your imagination. Amen.

Exactly. Why give a damn if you are called a racist? Besides, the only people who would say something like that to you are liberal pukes that you probably wouldn’t care to know even on a casual basis.

The last time somebody said that to me I answered, “yeah, so what? That’s my privilege. You got a problem with that?” Obviously, the “racist charge didn’t silence me like that person expected. But my reply sure left him speechless. Metrosexual punk.

I think I may have found our protection against terrorism. Pet pigs. We just train a pig to walk on a leash and let them loose on the country as a fad. No bombers anywhere. Make sure there is ALWAYS a pig in the pet carrier section of the plane, let them die with pig blood.

Ping.

We fail to recognize this at our peril. Some Euros are starting to wake up, but it may be too late.

I got a better one....just ask them to define racist....their heads will split in two, because they mostly do not know the dictionary definition..if they do know the definition, then ask them how that definition applies to the words you spoke....that WILL split their heads in two, they will explode with anger and start to scream hysterically...then all you have to do is laugh and walk away....

one thing is clear. German Jews were complacent. They were completely integrated into German society and could not see their imminent demise.

Well, not all of them. My grandmother came to America in 1936 to make arrangements for the family to leave Berlin, if it became necessary. In Novemeber of 1938, on the day of Kristalnacht, they left Berlin. I really don't think she was that unique. If one looks at the numbers of Jews who died in the Holocaust by country, Germans are relatively low percentage wise. I think this is because the Germans like my grandmother had more warning than did others in the overrun countries.

Whether you do or not - make sure you tell any prospective bomber within range you had a good healthy meal of sausage, ham, bacon, whatever... just before they showed up. Checkmate!

[American Jews] have grown to care more about social issues such as a right of choice ... than they do about their fellow Jews living in Israel or their own safety here at home.

I don't know why there seems to be a bunch of Jewish females out there who are so adamant about "a woman's right to choose," yet I've never met even one who ever had an abortion herself, at least not one who admitted to it or who was known to have had one. I suspect that the abortion rate for Jewish females in the US is minuscule when compared to the national average.

Yes, true exactly for the reason you stated: The German Jews had the advantage of seeing the Nazi oppression up close, getting more barbaric in stages with time. So there was a long warning period to act. By contrast, the Jews in other countries were invaded by Nazi armies from abroad and were immediately rounded up or killed.

I doubt there are any remotely reliable statistics, but since abortion rates are vastly higher amongst minorities I suspect you’re right.

There has always been a disconnect between the lifestyle of most American Jews and their voting patterns. I remember one wag who wrote years ago that U.S. Jews tend to “live like WASPs and vote like Puerto Ricans.”

Yes, I've heard a similar quote, to the effect that "American Jews earn like Episcopalians, yet vote like Puerto Ricans." The author of that quote, IIRC, was a well-known "liberal" Jewish community leader, who was gloating more than being critical when he said it.

It's about time that these leftist Jews woke up and realized that you can't afford to be altruistic in the voting booth when your adversaries on the left are out to annihilate you and your bretheren socially, economically and even physically by destroying the principles of the American founding and the legal system that have nurtured life in this country since its inception.
