Doctors from across the country have come to Washington to try to save a federal regulation that gives added protection to medical workers who choose not to perform certain procedures, like abortion, that they morally object to.
"It is open season on healthcare professionals of conscience," said David Stevens, CEO of the Christian Medical Association. "Discriminate at will."
Though a number of "provider protection" laws have been on the books for decades, some doctors complained they weren't being enforced. So just before he left office, President Bush enacted a federal regulation calling for better enforcement and mandating that some medical schools and employers actually certify their compliance in writing.

Why can’t doctors suddenly call in sick if they’re asked to do an abortion? If enough of them did it, that would get people’s attention.
Asking that one to preserve the ‘conscience clause’ is like asking Satan to say grace.
The Health and Human Services Department has rules and a protocol for changing policies. The bureaucracy might just work, this time.

They also had doctors and nurses saying they would be forced by conscience to quit their job rather than to commit what they see as immoral.
The time is coming my FRiends, the time is coming.
Time for Americans to stand up and say: “I REFUSE!”
Or go back to watching “American Idol” and have YOUR country go down the toilet.
This is like the Unions wanting to do away with the secret ballots in “Card Check”. The violation is fundamental.
