In the brief "Closing Arguments" segment on Wednesday's "Nightline," ABC's Terry Moran credulously repeated the White House contention that Barack Obama didn't bow to the King of Saudi Arabia last week at the G-20 summit. As video of the incident played, Moran narrated, "He sees King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia. Goes in for the hello. There's a hand shake. Obama bends at the waist. But was it a bow?" He then recited, "The White House called it a lean, pointing out the King's shorter than the President." Inviting people to respond on his Twitter page, Moran wondered, "So, tonight, we ask you, was it a bow and do you care?" A search of @TerryMoran responses on Twitter shows a healthy number of people somewhat incredulous at the host's lack of skepticism. DesigningDi instructed, "Are you blind? Of course he's bowing. Don't play stupid!"
ABC should be given credit for actually showing the video, but the question is, was Moran attempting to dismiss the situation as frivolous and not important or actually investigate its relevance?

I don’t really care about the bow. I care about the fact that if it was merely a sign of respect, then why didn’t he do the same thing for any other world leader? That is what makes this significant.

This is what the liberals do best - they bend and twist words. A lean? They can call it whatever word they want but the meaning is still the same - he was performing some kind of reverential gesture of some sort and it sure makes ME uneasy. I never saw any other president do anything even remotely like that.

look at the photo and you see a handful of leaders especially Sarkozy laughing right at the face of obama.

There’s a video on Youtube which shows Obama’s left hand tucked close to his waist as he bows. He didn’t use the left hand and any suggestion that he did by these WH mouthpieces is a fabrication.

I finally just told a liberal friend of mine last night that I was done discussing it with him. He laughed and I said no, as an athiest you will have your head cut off by the Muslims, while as a Christian I will be allowed to live.
That stunned him into silence for a few seconds and then he said, laughingly again, “Are you serious?”
I told him I’m done doing his research for him and if he wanted to know if Muslims wanted him dead he needed to look it up for himself. I gave him the name “Theo van Gogh” and said goodbye and hung up.

I posted before, his head was also bowed. If it was a lean why wasn’t he looking at the king, but instead at his shoes. I was never much into the Messiah being a mooslim, but that is incredible.

“Leaning” in the movie ‘While You Were Sleeping’ is a running line about a guy being attracted to a woman. “He looked like he was ‘leaning’” is one of the lines and the clear implication is that it is a sexual advance.

This is an interesting debate/discussion.
IMO its not so much capitulating as it is an act of humility and honor to Islam, Muslims.
While at the same time telling us, the US people, that he does not care that we elected him....that we are still a flawed, racist, arrogant nation that needs to be knocked down, shown our place, that we are but one country out of an entire world, not special or exceptional.
He really despises America and its people, and wants to reduce our power in the world....this is his goal.
