On the other hand, as long as she is there with water and power, there is some possibility that she will keep the plumbing and wiring from being stolen for their copper value.Since she already has no qualms about "stealing" the house, I'm sure she'd have none about taking the fixtures when she leaves.

I’ve had utilities turned on in various residences. I just call them up. I don’t have to prove anything.

Reminds me of the scene in Dr Zhivago where the revolutionaries kick their family out of their house because 20-30 people could live there. Yes!
That's what came to my mind as well, when I read this.
The "comrades" are taking over.
