"Hello, Boston!" Robert Baehr shouted from the podium before a crowd of about 1,500 gathered in the noon sunshine yesterday at Allegheny Landing, on Pittsburgh's North Shore.
Mr. Baehr could perhaps be forgiven for substituting the Allegheny River for Boston Harbor yesterday, given that the theme of this particular protest he'd organized was tea -- as in the Revolutionary-era Boston Tea Party -- and higher taxes, which, he says, will inevitably result from the recent stimulus package and the federal government's bailout of the banking and automobile industries.
Mr. Baehr, a 42-year-old software consultant from Evans City, dubbed the event "The Pennsylvania Tea Party," one of several anti-tax protests scheduled for the coming week. At noon Wednesday -- April 15, tax day -- a rally will be held at Market Square.
"This is not an anti-Obama rally, this is an anti-government rally," he told his audience, many of whom had tea bags dangling from their baseball caps and purses.

Tea Party Ping!!
These Tea Parties are a growing spontanious grassroots phenomenon that the MSM and Washington insiders do not understand. Ordinary people have just organized these rallies because they believe their taxes are already too high and only more taxes are coming. Tea Parties will only swell in number as more of Obama’s inevitable taxes increases hit home. Members of Congress who have consumed Obama’s tax and spend kool-aid should be very scared about holding their seats.
My sentiments exactly. Well said!
My own comment to seated congressional members:
Be afraid - be very afraid.
We the People are rising up...
To my fellow Americans: educate yourselves regarding your Constitutional and Inalienable Rights.

We cannot let it end here. We have to take this energy to D.C.: http://pushbackuntil.com.
We have to combine the tea parties with a “Term Limits Now” litmus test for our representatives.
There is opportunity here.
Imagine what this country would be like if Alan Keyes had been elected President last November.
Allow me my fantasy. It’s all I’ve got at this point.
This litmus test will not work - they will not vote term limits upon themselves. That is why we have to “Push Back Until.” We, the people, need to force them into doing it. It has to be law.
“See you in D.C. - Push Back Until!”

By the way, Captain Phillips is now resting on the U.S.S. Bainbridge, named for Commodore William Bainbridge. Not only was Commodore Bainbridge born right here in Princeton, New Jersey, but he fought the Barbary Pirates and was imprisoned by them for 2 1/2 years until freed after William Eaton’s expedition to “the shores of Tripoli.”
