Federal agency warns of radicals on right (Big Brother is coming)

The Department of Homeland Security is warning law enforcement officials about a rise in "rightwing extremist activity," saying the economic recession, the election of America's first black president and the return of a few disgruntled war veterans could swell the ranks of white-power militias.

A footnote attached to the report by the Homeland Security Office of Intelligence and Analysis defines "rightwing extremism in the United States" as including not just racist or hate groups, but also groups that reject federal authority in favor of state or local authority.

"It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single-issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration," the warning says.

I don't think even our worst fears went this far. We have a new enemy = us.

I’m sure CBS is playing right into this fervor over
the rightwing with Lesley Stahl’s 60 Minutes report
last night on guns, and 0 is listening.

Video - The Way of the Gun

“Americans are buying guns and ammunition at a startling rate despite the economic downturn. As Lesley Stahl reports, the economy, as well as the election of Barack Obama may be the reason for the run on guns.”

Only instead of coldly-logical killing-machines we have hot-blooded rage-fueled genocide-types.... fortunately we can deal with them the same way... hydraulic presses, liquid nitrogen, and LOTS of ordinance.

Who would have thought being a federalist meant you were ‘extreme’ or ‘dangerous’!? Apparently I am.

Every gun bought is a vote of “No Confidence” in our Government... now go buy some ammo too!

It’s actually ordnance. The last thing we need is any more ordinances.

Damnit! That’s what I get for:
a) Staying up to 1 am,
and
b) using the spell-checker in such a state.

lol - Thanks for the catch.

Yep . this has apparently got them nervous.

~~~
The FBI was quoted Monday as saying that, since November, more than 7 million people have applied for criminal background checks in order to buy weapons.
~~~

Stunning.

All taxpaying American parents of toddlers must have missed the federal warning that Teletubbies causes anger, frayed nerves and the uncontrollable spasmodic reaction to throw a brick through the TV screen.

Finally, something that leftists and the children they didn't abort and conservatives can agree on.

from page 2 of the Washington Times article linked in post no. 1:

SNIPPET: “The FBI was quoted Monday as saying that, since November, more than 7 million people have applied for criminal background checks in order to buy weapons.”

SNIPPET: “Ms. Kuban said, however, that the department had published reports on left-wing radicalization as well, though she could not name one.

“These types of reports are published all the time. There have actually been some done on the other end of the spectrum, left-wing,” Ms. Kuban said.

A similar headline was used in a report issued in January, Ms. Kuban said, although she could not provide the content of the headline.”
