DHS, 'Rightwing Extremism' and Information Warfare
The American Thinker ^ | April 15, 2009 | Lance Fairchok

Posted on 04/15/2009 3:17:07 AM PDT by Scanian

The Homeland Security Assessment targeting mainstream conservatism was amateurish, poorly written and its logic absurdly shallow. It's a shot across the bow in the unfolding information warfare.

The DHS Intelligence Assessment Document marked "For Official Use Only" and entitled; Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment, was released to law enforcement agencies nationwide. Its stated purpose was to "deter, prevent, preempt, or respond to terrorist attacks against the United States." Read the entire document here.

If this DHS Assessment is an example of the kind of analysis our decision makers receive from our intelligence agencies, we are in far worse straits than I had imagined. It is amateurish, poorly written and its logic is absurdly shallow. It sounds as if it was cobbled together from bits and pieces of dated research to quickly fill a short notice requirement. I suspect it was not intended to inform or educate law enforcement first responders and decision makers, so much as it was designed to shape their perceptions in the information war the Left is waging on the American people.

Rightwing extremists have capitalized on the election of the first African American president, and are focusing their efforts to recruit new members, mobilize existing supporters, and broaden their scope and appeal through propaganda, but they have not yet turned to attack planning.

The statement "they have not yet turned to attack planning" has the ring of inevitability to it

Let's be frank, this was totally expected.

There's 9/11, it's all about muzzie terrorists for a couple of years, then it's all about concentrating power still further. Bait & switch.

” A footnote attached to the report by the Homeland Security Office of Intelligence and Analysis defines “rightwing extremism in the United States” as including not just racist or hate groups, but also groups that reject federal authority in favor of state or local authority. “

The entire state of Texas is a hate group..... I wish my state was also....

Janet Napolitano and the other Leftists who have slithered into Homeland Security, have politicized, criminalized, and are Gestapo-izing it. She and thoe others who have manufactered this “Jewification” of the Republicans, Conservatives, and anyone else who dissents from the death cult Lefts mantra, are the *real* domestic threat to our form of Government anf the American Way.

Those of you who work for Homeland Security...Is this what you signed on for? To be a new Gestapo? a new STASI? a new NKVD? against your fellow citizens?

Under the report’s same reasoning, the US Constitution is a terrorist document.

Remember when First Lady Hillary Clinton called
Talk Radio, and conservative commentators as a Vast Right Wing Conspiracy? Remember how Rush Limbaugh sold T-Shirts and Mugs with that message?

This is even worse..

The US constitution has been an outright threat to our government Statist overlords since the very early 1900’s. It hasn’t stopped them yet.

Muslims aren’t terrorists any longer according to Obama, but people who don’t like what he’s doing to this country are.

I’m sure there are a lot of people who are completely happy with how he’s handling the nation and even with this piece of garbage report, but I do wonder how many feel conned? If they were totally honest with themselves.

This appears to be prima facia evidence that the new admin is terrified of the rest of us. Such propaganda shows that they are paranoid and that what we are doing is going in the right direction—right as in correct and proper. Once you get out of the ghettos, we are all right wing, except for most cops who will take this as a sign to run to the donut shop for refueling.

Activities such as this only hasten the polarizing of the US population. They are driving this country straight to Revolution II. Prepare to repel the brownshirts.

You can rest assured that the tea parties will be heavily monitored and filmed to identify right wing extremist terrorist militia members.

Watch for reinforcing messages from other venues and other government organizations. It will be used by talking heads, journalists and administration officials to make agenda-driven analysis sound rational as they work to delegitimize, marginalize and divide Americans, precisely when it is apparent that significant grass roots opposition movements are gaining steam.

The latter has got them scared and they can't afford to let it happen. I think that not only will we see lots of these "reinforcing messages" demonizing dissent, but the campaign will come much sooner and be much more aggressive than we expect. The only thing that has consistently impressed me about Obama is how rapidly he and the people who are using his spiteful stupidity are moving to destroy the United States and impose an entirely different system on us. I suspect we will have our Reichstag fire soon - some incident will be staged that he will blame on basically mainstream conservatives, after first having demonized us all as potentially violent radicals, and then it will be open season on us.

"...and then it will be open season on us."

When they start the shooting (and they eventually will), I think that there's more than a handful of us that will shoot back.

I am not sure that it will be open season on us, but I do suspect that it will be open season on someone. Take into consideration, that we are not afraid of them as they are of us, look at who really pays the bills, look at who really has the guns, look at who really has the ammo, and look at who really has the training and the warrior spirit. No, I dont think that describes the liberals at all.

This is what happens when you enlarge government, even with good intentions. The Bush Administration gave us the Office of Faith Based Initiatives and the Department of Homeland Security. We went along because they were GOP initiatives and we thought, for a time, that big government was OK as long as it was managed by the right people.

Now we have the Faith Based Initiatives being run by people who hate Christianity and Christians, and Homelamd Security run by people who hate those who believe in limited govenment and the Constitution.

We are reaping what we sow. We bought into “compassionate conservatism”, which turned out to be Big Government Republicanism. Bush begat Obama much like Hoover begat FDR. Thats why the Tea Party Movement has to remain a non-partisan, grass-roots movement.
