City lampooned for 'banning Constitution'

A businessman outraged by perceived government attempts to silence free speech is turning the tables on city officials by posting a giant mural depicting their banning of the First Amendment.

Dru Jeanis had artist Alex Scott create a giant political cartoon featuring the Clearwater city council, and he is displaying it outside his Pure Postcards store.

It portrays local officials as "domestic enemies," and has bubble quotations including Mayor Frank Hibbard stating, "I don't think we are impinging upon free speech."

The artwork comes in reaction to the ongoing legal battle between the city and another local business, a bait and tackle shop known as the Complete Angler.

That shop is suing the city in federal court after being cited for initially displaying its own mural of game fish, and then posting a giant banner of the First Amendment.

Jeanis says local officials take an oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution.

"I do not know how they can be protecting the Constitution when they are so willing to simply stand by while its display is banned by government employees, and the ones trying to display it are threatened with severe penalties and fines," Jeanis told WND.

Clearwater is little more than a waiting room for blue hairs waiting to die.

Two of the items listed on the first page I take issue with:

4. Our soldiers are STILL in Iraq, fighting a war based on lies!

8. They voted to allow the FBI, CIA and others, to spy on US citizens. They can tap your phone, search your house when you're not home and not have to tell you.

Neither of which are true.

That's an interesting comment considering we're talking about freedom.
What's your point?

Yes, those are two of the items to whicn I also object.

Having said that, I’ve searched the net for ANOTHER periodic congressional rating service and could not locate one that SEENED to base its scoring on the Constitution.

The old TRIM (TAX REFORM IMMEDIATELY) system run by the JBS is no longer being maintained. Guess the media war on the Birch Society dried up the funds necessary to do that research and they have no plans to revive it.

IF YOU OR ANYONE HERE KNOWS OF A TRUSTWORTHY WEB SITE FOR THAT SORT OF INFO, PLEASE ADVISE.

Thier site lacks one critical element, that of a contact page. If I cannot contact them, then the authors are merely posting their unsupported opinion. They would be wise to start a blog page that allows folks to discuss some of their ideology.

Their political leanings seem to follow the Libertarian guidelines with overtures of Lindon LeRouche.

Clearwater is an interesting place filled with scientologists and very old folks.
This is a case where the city has been harassing a guy who owns a bait shop.
plain and simple.
So how are things going where you are Marine?
