“How about we just force the media to report the news honestly and accurately?”
_____

You rightly answer your own question when you say, “The MSM has become cancerous and it is beyond treatment.” If you bake a cake with motor oil, no amount of flavoring or reworking that cake after the fact is going to get rid of the motor oil taste,

We - for the time being - lack the apparatus to “force the media” to do anything. However, we all have the means and the wherewithall to educate those around us and we would be remiss if we didn’t take the opportunity.

Besides, I get comments/questions from some on my distribution list and love the opporutnity to explain. It seems people are now ready to repsond to “discussions” rather than have a different outfit (other than LSM) shoving message at them.

Thank you...I'm always "on to something!" In fact, I feel like I've been dragging Freepers toward the road to reality since 11/4/08. Sigh...even Rush, Beck, et al are too slow for me!

The problem is that our government is not listening to us...because they don't have to. We have a 1-party system and they can roll through anything they want. The existing mechanisms that our founding documents put in place are no longer working for us. The way they do that whatever they want (hey, why not a high-speed rail project all across the USA?!!!), is with our money. Hence, the only way we can have an impact is by starving them of their food source.

So, what does that look like? In the short term - like this:

1. We need to show our strength by a 1-3-day silent protest. All that means is that we don't go to work that day and we don't spend anything that adds to their coffers. It means getting off the government grid completely for those 1-3 days. We will probably have to do this more than once.

2. Since we can't get anything through our legislators, we need to start ignoring them: from all parties. Besides, they aren't listening. Don't call them, don't write to them, don't fax them, don't go to their townhall meetings, etc.

3. We need to start ignoring all the MSM. Don't send them letters to their editor; don't buy them; don't go to their websites, take their polls, respond to their blogs, etc.

4. We need to literally starve the legislators. The best way to do this is to enlist truckers nationwide - particularly those who make ANY deliveries to D.C. and the state capitols.

I could go on....

We need to boycott the advertisers imo. Starting with MSNBC since they seem to have the least amount of veiwers and GE is already hurting, they may be the easiest to roll over. Demand they fire madcow, olberdork, etc. or run them out of business completely. Then we move on to CNN. Hit em one at a time. Such a campaign though takes a lot of organizing to spread the word and I don’t know that we have the structure(media) to pull it off.

“how would you rate it on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being honest and 1 being dishonest?”

I couldn’t rate it. I only watched one local news, that was it.

How about yourself?
