About 7,500 people showed up at the Tea Party at Save Mart Center, one of thousands held around the country on tax day.
Fresno was just one of thousands of cities to host a tea party on Wednesday and was also one of the largest events in the county.
The event is based on the pre-revolutionary war protests in Boston, where Americans took a stance against excessive government taxation.
The people at the tea party in Fresno say they don't care if you're a Republican or a Democrat. They say everyone, from every background or social standing should be upset about the current trend of big government, big spending policies and huge corporate bailouts.
Its not known if all the protests will have any affect on the politicians but that didnt stop the people attending from making their feelings known.

Personally....I loved the pics!
The awesome, 7,500+ person strong, crowd!
Freeper Stuart Weil and Dr. Linda Halderman, who gave a wonderful speech at the CVTP.
Mama_Bear, Jim Robinson, and Sheila being photographed by one of the many cameras at the event.
I love this shot that jk got of Melissa when she was given the gold flag pin. I wish I could credit the jeweler who gave it to her, but I don't know who it was. :-(
BTW, a thread was posted last night that 300,000 were at a tea party in San Francisco, has anyone else read that thread and was it true? I have seen no numbers today on San Fran. I was touting that number for a while but then I stopped because I couldn't find the thread and couldn't find anyone who had been to a tea party in SF. Can anyone shed any light on this?
Tenthamendment, you need to learn to ask permission before using someone's photos, and even though I loved seeing them I understand Mama_Bear's pique!
OK point taken.
All the networks were so inflamed and called these people misfits, angry disgruntled people, protesting against everything. They were mean, mean!
O'Reilly said Fox beat CNN, HLN, MSNBC, and CNBC,all totaled together with amounts more than all put together, and they beat NBC last night too. This country is going to h--- in a hand-basket! Sometimes my blood boils! Thanks for letting me spout off...LOL!
Thank you. (I hate it when I get growly like that.) ;-)
No, I won't have them deleted. I wish I could post all of them on the thread, but I took so many and my professional photographer husband, who documented the event for the organizers, took over 600! If you want to see his, you are going to have to go to the website. LOL.
Unfortunately (or maybe, fortunately), I didn't get to hear any of the Fox reports, or the other networks either, but I did hear Rush and Sean today and it sounded like Fox was the only network that reported on our Tea Parties fairly.
So, what else is new? That's the MSM for you. I just don't listen anymore. I think of them as the dinosaurs of the information age, becoming more and more irrelevant every day, just like the left-wing newspapers that are dying off like flies.
Our event was exhilarating, electrifying and inspiring and the Obama mouthpieces can say whatever they want, they can't change reality. IT WAS WHAT IT WAS. :-)
I am glad you enjoyed the photos, sweet friend. Wish you could have been there.
Great shooting, jk!!
Thank you. I hope you can view the others that I linked to on Picasa. I just couldn’t post them all on the thread. I try to be conscious of the fact that not everyone has high speed internet. :-)
Off with their heads indeed.
I'm so proud of you all!
Hope all is well in your world.
Good to see you, Lori!
I'm doing well, thanks, and I hope you are doing well also.
WOW! Thanks for the ping/pics Mama_Bear! Thanks for the pics, TenthAmendmentChampion! Thanks for posting, Jim! OUTSTANDING turnout! Thanks to all in attendence.
Michigan had quite a turnout 5000-7000 (from what I hear...(I went to the last one a couple of months ago)) at the state capitol in Lansing. It looks like ya’ll topped it. GRRRRRREAT job!
WOOOOHOOOOO!
I didn’t take any pictures... just posted them here from other sites. I can’t take any credit for anything except showing up and making a lot of noise.
Thanks for being there/here, Lori...pics taken or no pics taken.
Thanks for the clarification. (Sheesh...I’ve never learned how to post a pic yet but really haven’t felt the need to anyway...my mind and wallet are taxed enough :) )
Thanks to all FReepers, lurkers AND attendees at all of the T.E.A. parties across the republic.
The colonial Americans although you couldn't call them
that at the time were not just protesting onerous taxation.
They were protesting the Tyranny of a disconnected government, that did not respond to the wishes of the governed. Such is the situation we find ourselves in today.
We had a good turnout here in Cumming Ga.several hundred people and a GREAT response from the drivers passing the square,
I'm ready for the next one, July 4th? When?
Tet68.
My husband and I got to the Tea Party after 5pm (those darn jobs just demand soooo much!) I wish that the organizers would have saved some coveted speakers for this time—like the “little cheaper dealer”, “joe the plumber” etc. We got a the knuckledraggers in some bizarre skit, the singer singing great but not upbeat songs and Brad Maaske—good but not a barn burner for the ending. I really wanted to be there in a lawn chair the whole time but there was no way to get the time off from my job nor my husband’s job.
Because of this if there is another event I will volunteer to help....
