Ms. Garafalo has a terrible case of self loathing and projection. Since she never had what one could consider a “normal life” she carries an deep hatred and resentment of all things normal. Deep down she wanted to be the blonde cheerleader type going out with the star football player.

Being the ugly duckling, with no hope of becoming the beautiful swan, she has become the “anti-swan” and attacks all that represents. Including happiness.

Which explains the dark clothing, the tattoos, bitterness(see her profile on Wikipedia)not just to Conservatives but to liberals who don't see the view in her own marxist-feminist world views.

Her quasi-intelligentsia fools no one but her fellow rubes who would follow her for her anti-establishment attitudes.
