now there’s an unpragmatic view. what do you think the response would be, an invasion?

You may recall from the history books that Texas did leave the Union back in 1861 and four years later was forced by gunpoint back into the Union.

And when Texas did re-join the Union in 1865 it did not have the option to secede in the future.

Contracts between citizens and signed under duress are not valid in a court of law yes?
