I thought that all the ghoulish, lowlife, greedy scum of this earth were supposed to be white. But then, I could be wrong.

Surprise, Surprise, Surprise!!! Somebody finally wrote about the greed of the King family. The Department of the Interior has been paying the King family millions of dollars since 1970. Park service employees have been maintaining the home, even while C.S. King was living there, acting like landscapers and observers. The only thing is that the King family objected to the NPS employees wearing uniforms because they looked too much like police and the police offended them. For years, the Congress kept it secret that the US taxpayer was subsidizing the family with funds funneled through the Department of the Interior and the NPS.

In related news, the heirs of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, Andrew Jackson, Abraham Lincoln, and other former presidents have hired a law firm to represent them in their efforts to obtain royalties for the use of their likenesses by the US government for over one hundred years without compensation on everything from currency to postage stamps...

Greed!
The word is used too often but in this case it's appropriate. This family is beyond the pale (no pun intended).
What a bunch of low lives.

I'm sorry, but did any of you knuckleheads actually read the article???
"According to financial documents reviewed by The Associated Press, the foundation paid $761,160 in 2007 to Intellectual Properties Management Inc., an entity run by King's family. Documents also show a "management" fee of $71,700 was paid to the family estate in 2003. In a statement to the AP, Intellectual Properties Management said the proceeds it receives go to the King Center in Atlanta, where King and his wife, Coretta Scott King, are entombed. The statement said the arrangement was made out of concern that fundraising for the monument would undercut donations to the King Center."
Ok. So all the King family got was about 72 grand, chump change considering all the work the family has done to get this memorial done. They didn't even touch the rest of the money which went straight from the memorial foundation, to a management company, to the King Center in Atlanta. So what the hell is the problem?

How would I have missed it if I quoted it?
The money eventually went to the King Center in Atlanta which is run by the National Park Service, the government would have got its money.
