"Critics of comprehensive immigration reform, which ideally combines legalization with more visas and more enforcement measures, say that the last amnesty enacted -- the Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA) of 1986 -- didn't solve the illegal alien problem." wsj I didn't work because there was no way to prove when they came in the first place, and they were used to using forged documents, so they had no problem getting more. it will be 1986 all over again.

It is constant I get a google report and it is loaded every day and some of it is so bad you can barely stand to browse through it. I suppose it will be that way until they have all the remaining damage inflicted or we stop them somehow.

So basically what this article says, is allow them to keep coming, but make them legal. Hmmm.

I work in a restaurant and we’ve had several guys do that. It’s an inconvenience, but it’s what they should have done the first time.

"Do we really want to turn on our TVs and see crying children loaded onto buses being sent into Mexico?"

YES. Just give me advance notice so I can lay in a supply of popcorn.

Of course, I believe in a program that will lead to self-deportation:

That's a start. I'm sure other measures could be taken, including a Duncan Hunter-approved border fence.

look at the treaties we made with the Indians they were to be forever, and few if any are honored today. those who ignore those are the same ones we are dealing with today. keep praying, your guns ready, and treat your returning vets with Honor! do this and you too can be added to the terrorist watch list with the likes of these... http://s62.photobucket.com/albums/h96/mtnjimmi/Fresno%20Tea%20party/?action=view&current=RWextreamests.jpg

while i agree with you the some changes proposed here would require constitutional amendments to implement. worst of all they’d cut in to the base of the ‘rat party voting base.

“. Some 400,000 people enter the country illegally each year — a direct consequence of the fact that our current policy is to make available only 5,000 visas annually for low-skilled workers. If policy makers want to reduce the number of illegal entries, the most sensible and humane course is to provide more legal ways for people to come.”

_______________

These open border fools don’t know how many people we allow in legally or just don’t care!

According the the US Government.......Add them up.....legal entries are over 2 million every year.
The Obama Administration wants MORE legal immigrants and wants to amnesty 12 to 20 million more illegal aliens!

WASHINGTON (AP) — Hispanics made up nearly half of the more than 1 million people who became U.S. citizens last year, according to a Hispanic advocacy group. The National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials said the number of Latinos who became Americans in fiscal year 2008 more than doubled over the previous year, to 461,317. That’s nearly half of the record 1,046,539 new citizens overall in 2008, a 58 percent increase from 2007. http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5gQKI-mUtzRTYIm7MjslLxEoz2zVgD97DFPI01

Study: Illegal Immigrants Having More Kids In US Associated Press ^ | April 14, 2009
http://www.thedenverchannel.com/money/19175382/detail.html

Growing numbers of children of illegal immigrants are being born in this country, and they are nearly twice as likely to live in poverty than those with American-born parents...

Overall, illegal immigrants’ children account for one of every 15 students in kindergarten through 12th grade. In 2008, California had the most illegal immigrants at 2.7 million, double its 1990 number, followed by Texas, Florida, New York and New Jersey.

“In the next eight years, the violent collection of criminal drug cartels could overwhelm the state and establish de facto control over broad regions of northern Mexico,” McCaffrey’s report said. “A failure by the Mexican political system to curtail lawlessness and violence could result in a surge of millions of refugees crossing the U.S. border.”

I wonder if Amnesty is going to be a battle here on FR again with those who still support Bush/McCain. I know, I know, hard to believe they’re still hangin around, but there are a few.
