Harman, a California Democrat, was overlooked by Pelosi to head the House Intelligence Committee in 2006 when Democrats regained the majority. The post instead went to Rep. Silvestre Reyes of Texas.

The article published Sunday in the Congressional Quarterly anonymously quoted two former National Security Administration officials who said they read transcripts of a wiretap in which Harman was overheard in a conversation with an alleged Israeli agent being spied on by the Bush administration.

Harman of California is the senior Democrat on the House intelligence committee. Time Magazine reports she may have received a boost from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee when Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi wanted to remove her from the committee. Harman left a voice mail for the magazine calling any suggestions of improper conduct “irresponsible, laughable and scurrilous.” She has retained Ted Olson, the lawyer who formerly served as President George W. I don’t think so. Pelosi et al. are throwing her under the bus for some reason.
It could be INTEL agencies taking revenge or it could be (and more likely) Pelosi et al The latter seems more likely...

If you read the transcript of her conversation, note that they continued to quote her AFTER she hung up the phone. Thus it wasn’t her phone that they bugged, it was her office. She is being thrown under the bus by the LIBERAL Democrats. She is a Blue Dog Dem.
The wicked Queen Nancy has consulted her mirror on the wall and recieved the distressing report that there is one who yet stands in her way of becoming the “fairest of them all”!
Never made the connection. Harman has some impressive brands, but I suspect they are a shadow of the former companies. Certainly no financial incentive here.
This is all being done to take the air out of the pro Israel lobby in congress. There is a couple of storys on American Thinker about it.
